As we enter Night 4 of tensions and protests in Los Angeles and other cities in California and across the nation, one of the agitators who helped set off the violent ICE protests in L.A. has been released from detention. As RedState reported, SEIU California President David Huerta attempted to obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from serving a warrant at a business alleged to be hiring illegal immigrants and falsifying employment documents. Huerta was immediately stopped and quickly placed in handcuffs. He was reportedly injured and sent for treatment at a hospital before being held pending a Monday arraignment.
Prominent California union leader David Huerta has been charged with conspiring to impede a federal officer during a demonstration against President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.
Huerta, 58, president of Service Employees International Union California (SEIU), has been charged with conspiring to impede an officer during an anti-ICE protest in Los Angeles on Friday, June 6.
On Monday, Huerta was released from custody on $50,000 bond.
"I just want to tell my members ... that I hope, I don't know if the right word is forgiveness," he said after being released. "It was not my intention to get arrested. I hope that I did not put them in harm's way."
Huerta was arrested on Friday when law enforcement officers were executing a federal search warrant at a Los Angeles business under investigation for allegedly hiring illegal immigrants and falsifying employment papers.
A massive anti-ICE convoy numbering in the hundreds and waving foreign flags is now moving through downtown LA. They have at least 100 vehicles from what we’ve seen, and they are setting off fireworks as they go. We are now in the heart of DTLA at 4th & Spring. No police. pic.twitter.com/HDXBqyf8a2

The court filings detail the circumstances behind his arrest, so there is no mystery. If convicted, Huerta faces a maximum sentence of six years in federal prison.
According to a court filing by a special agent for Homeland Security Investigations, a crowd including Huerta gathered outside the business, yelling at officers.
Huerta reportedly sat down in front of a vehicular gate and encouraged others to walk in circles to try to prevent law enforcement from entering or exiting.
The agent stated it was clear "he and the others had planned in advance of arrival to disrupt the operation."
A law enforcement officer approached Huerta, told him to leave, and then put hands on him to move him.
Huerta allegedly pushed back, and the officer pushed Huerta to the ground before arresting him, the filing states.
But SEIU is acting like Huerta is a persecuted political prisoner rather than a person charged with a federal crime because of his own foolish actions.
DAVID IS RELEASED and with his family! He still faces an unjust felony charge.

While we’re relieved that David is out after three nights in detention, we demand the Trump regime drop the unjust charge against him & end the raids!
Apparently, California Democrat legislators, U.S. Congressmen, and Senators are demanding an investigation into Huerta's arrest and demanding that ICE be suspended from the city. When the unions say, "Jump," the Democrats say, "How High?" Gotta ensure they keep the donations flowing to their campaign coffers.
Why is California State Controller @MaliaCohen issuing a Statement opposing the Arrest of SEIU President David Huerta, and claiming that HE is the victim?

According to author Peter Schweizer, the ICE operation where Huerta inserted himself to obstruct had less to do with illegal workers and more to do with money laundering. So, why did Huerta know to go there on that day, and toward what end?
Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, revealed that the raids that sparked the violent LA riots were not for immigration purposes. Homan explained that the raids that took place in downtown Los Angeles on Friday were part of a criminal investigation into a money laundering…

It seems bigger corruption is being exposed, and neither Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass nor Gov. Gavin Newsom want this to happen. They are flat-out refusing to cooperate with ICE and allow them to conduct their investigations and removal operations. They are content to continue to foster, coddle, and maintain their corrupt operations at any cost, despite what the citizens of the city and the state have to say. In their mind, illegals are not the problem: ICE is, and they are the ones who need to pack up and go. Bass has gone on the record saying as much. When asked by ABC 7 what she would say to the Trump administration right now, she emphatically said, "Stop the raids! Stop the raids. Period."
Mmmkay.
BREAKING: Mayor Karen Bass just demanded ICE stop their operations.

No doubt Huerta will be making the rounds of every legacy media and progressive podcast with this same message, cosplaying as the political prisoner in Trump's fascist regime.
Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
