Chris Murphy Gives Full-Throated Endorsement to Democrat Chaos: 'We Are Going to Rise to This Moment'

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy is getting as much face time as he can in preparation for his run for president in 2028, assuming his playing foil to President Donald Trump will give him an edge over the usual suspects that make up the lackluster Democrat bench.

On Thursday, Murphy appeared on MSNBC's "The Briefing" with Jen Psaki to talk about his new PAC, The American Mobilization Project.

"We're targeting to spend over two million dollars just on protests and mobilization." Interesting. And Murphy claims the money is going "straight to groups on the ground that are mobilizing." I guess since USAID was disbanded, Murphy has to create his own, since that money-laundering arm is no longer an option.

Who are these groups and how exactly are they mobilizing? So many questions, particularly on Murphy's strategy. The Democrat fundraising platform ActBlue is under investigation, so with this scrutiny, another money-laundering arm is compromised. Murphy made this recommendation to his colleagues: "Instead, you know, of raising money and hoarding it to spend in the next election, let's raise money and spend it right now on the streets."

Uh-huh.

What Murphy is really doing here is giving a preview of Democrat tactics for the balance of 2025. On Friday, June 6, Murphy's vision for mobilization came to fruition in Los Angeles. The anniversary of D-Day for most patriotic Americans was used as an opportunity for anarchists and illegals to pop off. As my colleagues here at RedState have covered extensively, these "peaceful protests" in L.A. and New York against ICE raids and deportation efforts were coordinated, calculated, and well-funded. While Democrat politicians in California and the nation double down on blaming Trump and decry that he wants to impose martial law, these cretinous goons give a "nod, wink" to their foot soldiers. Their empty entreaties that protests should be peaceful, while simultaneously dismissing the violence and unrest evident in these protests, is a form of cognitive dissonance that is amazing to behold.

After a weekend of violence, looting, and property damage, on Monday Murphy showed his face again on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," and co-host Mika Brzezinski asked him about his response to the L.A. protests, and especially for Trump's calling up the National Guard to quell the protests and protect ICE agents. Like his fellow travelers in the legacy media, Murphy dismissed the unrest in L.A. as "isolated protests." Having lived in the Los Angeles area for 35 years, I can attest that blocking freeways and causing chaos in one part of L.A. has a detrimental and domino effect on all parts of L.A. The people who claim otherwise are dismissive buffoons who deny reality in order to further their own agenda.

But, I digress.

Then Murphy did his "wink, nod" to the "groups" he has funded through his newest PAC: keep those peaceful protests going, because democracy is at stake. Murphy posited:

Well, I mean, my first message is to keep it peaceful. I mean, obviously this is a moment where we have to be on the streets all over the country to protest what's happening to our immigrant community, but more broadly, to protest what's happening to our democracy. This is the most corrupt administration in the history of the country, and we are going to rise to this moment by being out there on the streets.

How else can you read this? A sitting senator goes on national television to give a full-throated endorsement to chaos and anarchy. We already knew this was the Democrats' agenda, but they used to be able to play sleight-of-hand and use organizations like ActBlue and USAID to cover their tracks. Now that they no longer have these options, they have become even more shameless and barefaced in their promotion of it.

Murphy continued,

But ultimately, I think the country sees what Donald Trump is trying to do here: he's looking for a fight, there's nothing in what he is doing that is about peace or about restoring order. He's taking a protest that is relatively isolated, you know. People in Los Angeles over the weekend would tell you that 99 percent of them went about their day and it was pretty normal, because this is not an invasion that has taken over the entire city. And he's trying to turn a protest that is pretty small into something that involves an even bigger confrontation so that he might actually be able to invoke the Insurrection Act. That would be a defining story of the week if he were to do it, and I just don't think, we have to make sure to understand to not take him at his word: he's looking for a fight, he's not trying to calm tensions.

Murphy and his cohorts will continue this line of attack, but I am convinced that the American people are not buying it. Four years of the horrors enacted through President Joe Biden and his autopen are swiftly unfolding and the very corruption Biden embedded is bearing bitter fruit. So, calling the Trump administration "the most corrupt administration in the history of our country" is not only yawningly hollow, but is yet another glaring example of Democrats' disregard and dismissiveness toward the American people and their concerns.

The "Joe Scarborough" fill-in host asked a question, and it was an accidental moment of journalism. He asked Murphy what the political risks are for Democrats who do not take the obvious violence of these protests seriously. Murphy responded:

I think you make it clear that we are only for peaceful protests. I don't think the American public wants Martial Law, I think the American public knows that local law enforcement can handle these protests.

Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell begged to differ. As my colleague Nick Arama reported, the chief admitted that the local LEOs were overwhelmed by the magnitude of the attacks. As Arama noted:

He was asked if they needed the National Guard. His response was, "This thing has gotten out of control."

And what Democrat narrative would be complete without invoking January 6, which Murphy chose to end his diatribe on. Juxtapose those unedited videos of the J6 kerfuffle with the videos of the targeted chaos and violence in L.A. and New York and the difference is evident.

This tack by Democrats is surprising no one, and the George Floyd Summer of 2020 is still indelible in the hippocampus. Americans across the country will be on high alert and many will not only avoid blue cities, but the current residents of those cities will seek out safer enclaves elsewhere, perhaps permanently. If Murphy thinks the Democrats will regain any power in 2026 or the White House in 2028 with this strategy, he and his party will be in for a rude awakening.

Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
