In a Friday news dump, President Donald Trump announced a memorandum to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Secretary of Agriculture (USDA) Brooke Rollins, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to authorize a "Military Mission for Sealing the Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions."
BREAKING: President Trump has signed a National Security Presidential Memorandum directing the U.S. military to take control of federal lands along the U.S.-Mexico border, including the Roosevelt Reservation, to completely secure the border.

The post continues:
The Roosevelt Reservation is a 60-foot-wide strip of federal land established in 1907 by President Theodore Roosevelt, spanning roughly 700 miles along the southern border with Mexico.
Incorporated within National Security Presidential Memorandum/NSPM-4, Trump dictated: "This memorandum provides additional guidance on securing the southern border to the heads of certain executive departments." The memorandum further outlines that Sec. of Interior Burgum and Agriculture Sec. Rollins are tasked with carving out a 60-foot wide strip of land along the Roosevelt Reservation, which borders California, Arizona, and New Mexico, and place it under military jurisdiction for the task of border enforcement and deterrence of illegal alien invasions:
The order would empower troops to detain people attempting to illegally enter the U.S. within the stretch of land, which was established by President Theodore Roosevelt for border security in 1907. Trump authorized the military to operate in the same area during his first administration to aid construction of a wall to deter migrant crossings.
The memorandum marks an escalation in the president’s use of the military to facilitate his sweeping crackdown on immigration. And while unclear how far the administration will go, it could be an additional step to militarizing the nation’s southwestern border.
Less an "escalation" and more of the "Shock and Awe" the Trump administration has implemented to continue to build off the blueprint to "Make America Safe Again." As Border Czar Tom Homan, DHS Secretary Noem, and FBI Director Kash Patel direct ICE raids to remove criminal illegals from sanctuary cities, SecDef Hegseth has placed military branches on the land and in the sea to quell any invasions on those fronts. Now, Trump has directed Interior Sec. Burgum and Agriculture Sec. Rollins to ensure these federal lands can be used once again toward the end-goal of securing the Southern border.
The memorandum further states that within 45 days of the issuance of this directive, SecDef Hegseth will assess the initial phase of this operation and determine if the military placements should be deployed to additional federal lands.
This memorandum comes on the heels of the House of Representatives passage of the Budget Resolution, which secured President Trump's full agenda, including increased border security funding.
As Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard testified to Congress:
U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the Southwest border dropped 85% in January 2025 compared to 2024. President Trump's commitment to heightened border security and enforcement is making America safer by deterring migrants from illegally crossing our border.

Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
