Twitter Banned Trump for Inciting Violence; The Taliban? Not So Much

President Donald J. Trump has made his voice heard over this chaotic and totally botched Afghanistan withdrawal:

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

08/14/21

Joe Biden gets it wrong every time on foreign policy, and many other issues. Everyone knew he couldn’t handle the pressure. Even Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, said as much. He ran out of Afghanistan instead of following the plan our Administration left for him—a plan that protected our people and our property, and ensured the Taliban would never dream of taking our Embassy or providing a base for new attacks against America. The withdrawal would be guided by facts on the ground.

After I took out ISIS, I established a credible deterrent. That deterrent is now gone. The Taliban no longer has fear or respect for America, or America’s power. What a disgrace it will be when the Taliban raises their flag over America’s Embassy in Kabul. This is complete failure through weakness, incompetence, and total strategic incoherence.

Thanks to Jack and the other three Horsemen of the Techpocalypse, Trump could not use Twitter to tweet this response to counter Biden’s lies that this utter debacle of foreign policy is his fault.

So, it is fascinating that the spokesman for the Taliban, who just took over the American Embassy in Kabul, gets to maintain his 286,000 followers, and tweet freely, with no restrictions.

From Fox News:

Twitter’s standards were called into question on Sunday after users pointed out that a key Taliban spokesman has been using the platform to give updates about the group’s advance within the country while former President Trump’s account remains permanently suspended.

Zabihullah Mujahid’s account is not verified but has nearly 280,000 followers and is regularly cited by major news outlets. He recently tweeted an update on “military units” entering Kabul. He wrote that their “advance is continuing normally.”

Jerome Riviere, the French politician, took to Twitter and posted: “Freedom and democracy are not doing well when #Twitter continues to ban #Trump’s account but relays the #Taliban spokesperson’s without any second thoughts.”

When you’ve lost the French…

This is what Twitter penned after January 6, 2021, as reason for its permanent suspension of President Trump:

After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.

“Risk of further incitement of violence”…

How are this spokesman’s tweets being perceived and interpreted by Twitter? Is Twitter even monitoring them? Or is the woke intern who regularly shadow bans and blocks Republican and conservative accounts too concerned about gender pronouns and dead naming?

Along with the neoliberalism and disastrous foreign policy being exposed with the terrible happenings in Afghanistan, we are getting more exposure of the hypocrisy, double standards, and the fecklessness of the Technocrats.
