The Devolution of Public Education: Stupid Children are Easier to Control, Quality Teachers are Not

“I have found that, to make a contented slave, it is necessary to make a thoughtless one. It is necessary to darken his moral and mental vision, and, as far as possible, to annihilate the power of reason. He must be able to detect no inconsistencies in slavery; he must be made to feel that slavery is right; and he can be brought to that only when he ceases to be a man.” — Frederick Douglass

Frederick Douglass was talking about slavery, and Leftist still use the slave master’s agenda on America’s children. One can track the devolution of public education to the day that the powers chose to stop educating your children, and instead to keep them ignorant, and to radicalize them.

Philip K. Giraldi, Ph.D. wrote this dire news about the United States Public Education system for the Strategic Culture Foundation:

Public education in the United States, if measured by results, has been producing graduates that are less competent in language skills and dramatically less well taught in the sciences and mathematics since 1964, when Scholastic Aptitude Test scores peaked. The decline in science and math skills has accelerated in the past decade according to rankings of American students compared to their peers overseas. A recent assessment, from 2015, placed the U.S. at 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD), the United States came in at 30th in math and 19th in science. Those poor results must be placed in a context of American taxpayers spending more money per student than any other country in the world, so the availability of resources is not necessarily a factor in most school districts.

Dr. Giraldi called out the agenda of equity as the culprit of the devolution:

The new world order for education is built around the concept of “equity,” sometimes described as using the public education system to “ensure equitable outcomes.” But the concept itself is deeply flawed as the pursuit of equity means treating all American unequally to guarantee that everyone that comes out of the schools is the same and has learned the same things. That is, of course, ridiculous and it penalizes the good student to make sure that the bad student is somehow pushed through the system and winds up with the same piece of paper.

And the quality overall of public education will sharply decline.

And it has. We have created a populace that is less educated, and more willing to follow any misinformation fed to them from selected sources. Stupid children are easy to control–why do you think they are pushing off masks on them when there is still minimal risk of their contracting or spreading COVID? If an authority figure like a teacher or administrator tells them this is the way things must be, and the system has already taught them not to question, you get the desired result of compliant children who are not only on the path of destroying their immune systems, but destroying their ability to think.

But this appears to be the point, and the Left and its selected leaders are pushing it with a vengeance.

My colleague Alex Parker wrote about the Oregon Governor Kate Brown signing into law that graduates of the K-12 public education system will not be required to prove proficiency in reading, writing or arithmetic.

This is shameful, but the shameless Kate Brown was all in.

Back to academics in Oregon, if you don’t prove you can read, write, or do math — at a freshman-to-sophomore level — you can still graduate.

Or, putting it differently:

If you cannot sufficiently read, write, or do math, you can still graduate.

It seems impossible someone could reach 12th grade and be that behind; on the other hand, if it wasn’t, they wouldn’t drop the requirements.

This was passed with little outcry, and the law wasn’t even posted publicly until after it passed.

To be sure, not all Oregon legislators thought SB744 was sensational.

Some Republicans asserted it lowers expectations for kids.

Even so, as stated by the Post:

Charles Boyle, the deputy communications director from Brown’s office…said that the new standards for graduation will help benefit the state’s “Black, Latino, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.”

The bill could remain in effect for five years.

The old requirements — emplaced in 2009 — were already temporarily suspended due the pandemic.

And so, progressively, this is where we are: If someone doesn’t reach a standard, the standard will come to them.

We cannot have anyone stand out academically, because this is racist, and prevents true equity. Because unremarkable and manipulable citizens is the new American way.

While they can control the stupid children, they cannot control the smart educator. Not the left-wing activists, who do whatever the union tells them and essentially don’t really like your children, but love the paycheck. No, we are talking about the ones who actually became teachers because they enjoy sharing knowledge and developing eager young minds. These educators are realizing that they must now become activists, not only to fight for their own jobs, but to fight for the children that they do love.

Teacher’s like Lilet Vanetsyan, who back in June stood up for children and parents against the CRT agenda at a Loudon County Board meeting.

After the speech went viral, Vanetsyan went on several radio and television programs to back up her speech. Vanetsyan said she has seen many teachers forced to teach lessons that they do not believe in and that are racist on its face. Vanetsyan encouraged parents and teachers to push back against this, and to hold school boards accountable for enforcing their radical and racist agendas.

What a concept.

However, part and parcel of these school board agendas is also to marginalize and remove these quality teachers: whether through overtly penalizing their viewpoint, like the Loudon County, VA gym teacher Tanner Cross, or 5th grade teacher Laura Morris, who recently stood before the Loudon County School Board and resigned because she would not adhere to the CRT mandates, the draconian nature of encouraging a child’s gender dysphoria, or being required to report her fellow teachers who speak against the board’s educational agenda.

From the Daily Mail UK:

‘You no longer value me, or many other teachers you have employed in this county.

‘So since my contract outlines the power that you have over my employment in Loudoun County Public Schools, I thought it necessary to resign in front of you.

‘School board, I quit.

‘I quit your policies, I quit your training, and I quit being a cog in a machine that tells me to push highly-politicized agendas on our most vulnerable constituents – the children.

‘I will find employment elsewhere. I encourage all parents and staff in this county to flood the private schools.’

The Board cut off her mic after that comment, as that is the last thing they want anyone to hear.

Loudon County seems to be ground zero for this, but it is occurring all over the country. With this fatal agenda already entrenched in the public education systems of the U.S., a quality private school or a homeschool education appears to be a parent’s last outpost.

Here is the choice before not only parents, but all Americans: keep producing uneducated children who can be easily manipulated and used as pawns for the Leftist agenda, or produce thinking and reasoning children who will fight for their autonomy, their minds, their unique place in the world, and their right to exist as God created them.
