Kamala Harris Defends 'Warhawk' Liz Cheney After Donald Trump Levels Her

Former President Donald Trump, during an event with Tucker Carlson in Arizona, criticized former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) for being a warmonger. Apparently, “antiwar” Democrats did not appreciate his comments and had a complete and utter meltdown on the airwaves and interwebs.

Now, Vice President Kamala Harris has gotten in on the outrage, and her comments were about as vapid as one would expect from her.

Just to recap for those who aren’t familiar, Trump responded to Carlson’s question about Cheney campaigning with the vice president. The former president said Cheney is a “deranged person” and that “the reason she couldn’t stand me is that she always wanted to go to war with people. I don’t want to go to war.”

“She wanted to stay in Syria. I took them out. She wanted to stay in Iraq. I took them I mean, if it were up to her, we'd be in 50 different countries. She's a radical warhawk. Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let's see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face. They're all warhawks when they're sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, ‘Oh, gee, well, let's send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.’”

Naturally, folks on the left edited the video clip to show only the part when Trump said, “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her.” Their objective was to make it appear as if Trump wanted to put Cheney before a firing squad.

Even though this lie was quickly debunked, Harris went with it anyway.

While discussing the matter with reporters after disembarking from a plane in Wisconsin, she accused Trump of increasing “his violent rhetoric.”

“This must be disqualifying. Anyone who wants to be President of the United States who uses that violent rhetoric is clearly disqualified and unqualified to be President. Representative Cheney is a true patriot who has shown extraordinary courage in putting country above party. Trump is increasingly, however, someone who considers his political opponents, the enemy, is permanently out for revenge, and is increasingly unstable and unhinged.”

The vice president also claimed Trump’s “rhetoric has grown more extreme, and he is even less focused than before on the needs and the concerns and the challenges facing the American people.”

The rest of Harris’ comments were just the usual dry, meaningless word salad to which Americans have already become accustomed.

Democrats are trying to make Trump’s comments backfire on him. Yet, it seems more likely that Democrats’ lies would backfire on them. The video clip clearly shows what Trump said – and it’s the same type of argument that many have made about warmongers who love to send troops to war without having to face the consequences of their policies.
