Progressive Gender Ideology Isn’t Just About ‘Inclusivity’

Stories like these reveal that progressives who are pushing gender ideology aren’t motivated by nebulous concepts like “inclusivity” or “tolerance.” Rather, their aim is to force their ideas on everyone else.

The Lake Oswego School District fired a high school track and field coach for daring to put forth a proposal that could have helped to solve the debate over transgender athletes in sports. Despite his desire to come to a fair solution, the wokies in the district didn’t think it was progressive enough and decided he was to be punished. The conflict started when coach John Parks wrote to district officials proposing a way to address the debate over transgenders in sports.

The head track & field coach at Lake Oswego High School said the district terminated his contract for writing letters to state officials advocating for change to laws pertaining to transgender athletes.

John Parks wrote two letters to Peter Weber, the Executive Director of the Oregon Student Activities Association, and state Sen. Rob Wagner before and after the state championships in May, respectively.

In the letters, Parks wrote that current state law, which protects athletes who wish to compete against the gender that aligns with their gender identity, compromises the integrity of girls' sports.

"The OSAA competition rules need to be aligned with what the rest of the world competes under," Parks wrote to Wagner, referring to hormone testing requirements enforced by the International Olympic Committee and other organizations. "My proposal to encourage transgender participation is to offer an open division that is so named so it doesn't identify or discriminate but offers an opportunity to participate."

The coach told KATU that wants transgender athletes to be able to participate in sports and viewed this as a way for everyone to be satisfied. Yet, he was still fired after writing those two letters.

The Liberty Justice Center filed a lawsuit on Parks’ behalf. "The Liberty Justice Center has filed a First Amendment lawsuit against an Oregon school district on behalf of a high school track and field coach who was fired for proposing an open division for transgender athletes to compete in, to ensure fairness for all student athletes,” according to a statement obtained by Fox News Digital.

Parks' proposal, which he shared in a letter to state officials, suggested that transgender athletes compete in an open division to avoid unfair advantages. According to a release obtained by Fox News Digital.

Parks is not the only one to recommend having a separate league for trans-identified athletes. Others have raised this idea as well though they were not punished for it. What is striking about this story is that the coach put forth a solution that could work for everyone. It would give trans-identified athletes a way to participate in sports while still maintaining fair competition for females.

It is already mind-boggling that the school administration would even reject such a proposal. But the fact that they took it a step further and fired him shows that this is not about inclusivity or any other progressive buzzwords.

The bottom line is that these people insist that everyone accepts transgenderism as perfectly normal, ignoring the inherent biological differences between men and women. It is not enough to make spaces for folks with gender dysphoria, we have to go along with the delusion to the point that we have to pretend that there are absolutely no problems with having biological males compete with women.

This case is proof that the progressive gender lobby isn’t merely concerned with making sure trans-identified folks can participate in sports. Their aim is to force their beliefs on the rest of us.
