Kamala Harris Would Be an Excellent Replacement for Biden – If Democrats Want to Lose

The fallout from President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance continues as Democratic politicians and their close friends and allies in the activist media debate whether to support him as the presidential nominee or put him out to pasture.

This debate has prompted the media to go beyond simply calling for Biden to drop out of the race and begin floating ideas for his replacement. Yet, for some reason, several media outlets have chosen Vice President Kamala Harris as a worthy successor to the geriatric authoritarian who currently occupies the White House.

Fox News political analyst Juan Williams published an op-ed in The Hill on Monday in which he made the dubious case for Black Hillary to take up the Democratic mantle against former President Donald Trump.

The piece starts off by doing the typical “Orange Man Bad” routine, claiming that Trump is a threat to democracy and blah blah blah. “Trump is a 78-year-old convicted of business records fraud and found liable for sexual assault,” he writes.

Then, he does the obligatory “Biden is a wonderful president” line, claiming he has a “great record of getting important legislation from a polarized Congress.”

After kissing Biden’s boots a bit longer, he finally gets to the “but.” He argued that despite Biden’s near perfection, he is still getting calls from concerned Democrats who can see that the president isn’t up to the task and referred to polls showing Trump pulling ahead. This has prompted him to consider the idea that perhaps a new candidate would be best for the party’s chances of retaining the White House after November.

The knives are out in full force, and they have carved out space in my mind for the possibility of taking the risk of searching for a new nominee to revive Democratic donors’ and voters’ enthusiasm to confront the threat of a second disastrous Trump presidency.

Williams suggests that Harris is the best person to succeed Biden and take on the Orange Man What Is Bad™.

The answer to this problem is Vice President Kamala Harris. If Biden announces that he is not running, there is only one candidate who can claim the money now in his campaign account – Vice President Harris. Only Harris would be able to access the Democratic ticket’s money, so anyone else would be starting from scratch.

“So long as Harris becomes the nominee, the campaign funds can seed her new campaign and be spent the same as if Biden were the nominee,” campaign finance lawyer Steve Roberts has told The Hill.

That leads me to the only man who has earned the right to persuade Biden to take a knee — South Carolina Representative Jim Clyburn. Clyburn made Biden the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in 2020 by delivering him a victory in the South Carolina primary on the strength of Black voters.

Amid the growing chorus of voices desperately pleading with Biden to drop out of the race, Harris has often been mentioned as the person who should take up the cause.

This would be a huge mistake for Democrats, who seem to have forgotten just how awful the woman is.

Harris’ tenure as vice president has been marked by incompetence, an inability to retain staff, and a remarkable lack of charisma.

For starters, the vice president has a history that will undoubtedly come back to haunt her if she becomes the Democrats’ Chosen One. Her career as California’s top cop was marked with all kinds of sins that will offend left-leaning voters – particularly her penchant for locking up black men for marijuana offenses and then laughing about it later during the 2020 campaign.

Secondly, there is also the fact that those who have worked for her don’t exactly have a high opinion of her managerial style. Her office has been fraught with turnover, with many aides leaving before serving for even one year. Indeed, some of her former employees recently dished on their experiences working for her, and it wasn’t pretty.

Harris’ abysmal handling of the border crisis has also garnered national criticism from folks on both sides of the aisle. Indeed, even after being dubbed the Biden administration’s border czar, it took her forever to so much as visit the southern border.

Then, there are Harris’ horrific approval ratings. Currently, she is sitting at 37.1 percent approval and 51.2 disapproval, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Suffice it to say, it’s not looking good for Harris’ chances of defeating Trump in November, which should make one wonder why anyone on the left would think it a good idea to push the vice president. Hell, even Biden would be a greater threat to Trump at this point, and the man looks more like Skeletor than a president.

Of course, this is mere speculation. It is possible that Democrats could replace President Biden, but it is not likely to happen. Given their taste in presidential contenders, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise for Democrats.
