At times, it is difficult to ascertain whether progressives make such insanely deceptive claims because they are ignorant or if they just believe the American public is ignorant. In the case of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries’ (D-NY) recent lie about former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski, I’m leaning toward the latter.

In a Wednesday post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Jeffries went after Bobulinski, who has been testifying before Congress about the Biden family’s shady foreign business dealings and President Joe Biden’s alleged involvement.

The claim? Bobulinski is a Russian asset working on behalf of the Kremlin.

Yes, I know the “Everyone I Don’t Like Is a Russian Asset” routine has become a hackneyed trope that lost its luster after the Russia collusion hoax was exposed, but for some reason, progressives haven’t caught on to that.

In the post, Jeffries wrote:

Extreme MAGA Republicans are relying on a Russian asset to try and impeach President Biden.

They have zero evidence of wrongdoing.

But that doesn’t matter to the Pro-Putin crowd.

Shame on them all.

Bobulinski has been thrust into the spotlight again because of his testimony before the House Oversight Committee in which he detailed his experience with the Biden family. During the 2020 campaign, he claimed that President Joe Biden was intimately involved in the family’s business affairs, an allegation that Biden has denied repeatedly.

House Republicans are currently pursuing an impeachment inquiry aimed at getting to the bottom of the matter. Bobulinski has gone further into detail about his knowledge of the matter. This is why Democrats are currently attacking him.

Let’s be clear: Jeffries knows Bobulinski is not a Russian asset. I refuse to believe his IQ is low enough to buy that line of balderdash. There is absolutely no evidence linking him to the Russian government. If there was, it certainly would have surfaced a long time ago.

But there is one thing that Jeffries’ lie reveals: Democrats are afraid of Bobulinski’s testimony. Otherwise, they wouldn’t bother trying to deceive people into believing he is in league with Boris Badenov and his constant companion, Natasha Fatale.

During his explosive testimony, Bobulinski claimed Jim Biden, Joe’s brother, lied about a meeting he had with himself, Bobulinski, Hunter, and Joe. The witness has said on multiple occasions: "The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period."

As one of House Republicans’ primary witnesses, Bobulinski could pose a threat to Democrats’ chances of retaining control of the White House after the upcoming election. This explains why Jeffries trotted out the Russia trope against him. Nevertheless, despite their mindless Russiamongering, Democrats will have to do more than simply pretending their opposition is somehow aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin if they want to con the American people into believing that President Biden is squeaky clean.
