A Lebanese illegal immigrant with ties to the terrorist group Hezbollah was apprehended March 9 near El Paso, Texas. The revelation comes amid widespread concerns about terrorists taking advantage of the border crisis to infiltrate the country.

The story became even more chilling after the individual told the authorities that he planned to make a bomb. It highlights the growing dangers posed by Biden's refusal to secure the border.

A Lebanese migrant who was caught sneaking over the border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah, he hoped to make a bomb, and his destination was New York, The Post can reveal.

Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was caught by border patrol on March 9 near El Paso, Texas. While in custody he asked what he was doing in the US, to which he replied: “I’m going to try to make a bomb,” according to a Border Patrol document exclusively obtained by The Post.

In a subsequent sworn interview, Ebbadi said he had trained with Hezbollah for seven years and served as an active member guarding weapons locations for another four years, according to internal ICE documents.

Ebbadi’s training focused on “jihad” and killing people “that was not Muslim,” he said.

The memo indicates that Ebbadi told investigators that he spent seven years training with Hezbollah. His focus was jihad and the killing of non-Muslims. However, the suspect also claimed he fled Lebanon because he “didn’t want to kill people” and that “once you’re in, you can never get out.”

Ebbadi described his experiences traveling through Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Panama before making his way to the southern border.

Whether he is telling the truth about fleeing Lebanon or whether he is actually a terrorist who sought to carry out an attack, his story highlights the growing dangers of the border crisis. In October 2023, Border Patrol apprehended two Iranian nationals as they attempted to cross the border. Both of them were on the terror watchlist.

The discovery comes amid a heated war between Israel and Hamas, which began when the terrorist group launched a surprise attack on the Jewish state. This revelation, along with calls from a Hamas leader to commit violence across the world, could be cause for alarm as the situation in the Middle East intensifies.

Two Iranians who are "raising red flags that they could pose a significant security threat" have been captured over the past two weeks at the American border, sources with U.S. Customs and Border Protection tell Fox News.

The identities of both Iranians appeared on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB), the sources confirmed.

Meanwhile, an Iranian man in his 40s was taken into custody around 3 a.m. Sunday in Eagle Pass, Texas, becoming the fourth individual from the country to be captured since Oct. 1 in the Del Rio sector.

In fiscal year 2023, which began at the start of last October, there were 151 total hits on the TSDB through the period ending on Aug. 31.

That figure is more than the total of the previous six fiscal years combined.

In the first two weeks of this fiscal year, the CBP sources told Fox News that agents have apprehended more than 30 Iranians, nearly 60 Syrians, 35 Pakistanis, more than 100 Russians, 285 Afghans and nearly 2,000 Chinese migrants at the southern border.

The possibility of terrorists coming over the southern border has been a concern since even before the border crisis began. Now, it is becoming apparent that there are valid reasons behind these concerns. Earlier this month, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned about a “wide array” of threats coming over the border. Ebbadi is the latest in a long list of questionable individuals who have made it into the country.
