Stacey Abrams Just Went on MSNBC to Call You Racist and Sexist for Not Liking Kamala Harris

It will never cease to amaze me that Democrats continue believing they can insult or shame people into supporting their politicians. It’s as if they believe if they call you “racist” or “sexist” enough times, you will finally throw up your hands and say, “Well, maybe Democrats aren’t so bad, after all.”

This is the tactic that was in full play when failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams went on MSNBC to tell host Jen Psaki and the network’s white progressive audience that people don’t have a favorable opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris because the nation despises black women.

During the interview, Psaki noted that Harris “has been under a huge amount of scrutiny through her entire time in office” and asked if “she would be receiving these same critiques if she was a white man.”

Abrams answered: “No, no, not at all.”

She continued:

We will always question the person behind the person, but we cannot ignore that misogyny and racism remain very prevalent in our politics. For those behaviors that don't rise to either misogyny or racism, there's also just the difference. Our expectations are set for the traditional white male vice president.

A FiveThirtyEight poll published Friday showed that only 37 percent of respondents approved of Harris’ job performance so far.

To begin with, this is a line that Democrats have been peddling since it became apparent that Harris was an incompetent empty suit who was only given her position because President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats wanted a black woman as vice president. If anything, they were more concerned about her gender and race than the rest of the country, which simply wanted a competent person in the position.

However, folks like Abrams are in a position in which they can’t really defend Harris’ performance as vice president. Indeed, even in debates I’ve had with folks on the left, they can’t really give any compelling reasons to support her. So, taking this into account, it makes sense that her defenders would immediately deflect to Harris’ identity as a black woman and pretend her critics are motivated by bigotry.

At some point, there will come a time when leftists will alienate even more people by pretending that those who do not think exactly as they do are wicked, bigoted people. Indeed, the tactic may have worked in the past, but it appears the time is coming when using this strategy will only push people away instead of attracting them. There is only so much of this cynical tactic that people will be willing to take.

Of course, it would be a better idea for Democrats to put people in place who are actually competent. In fact, there were likely plenty of black women who would have been better than Harris. But why focus on quality when you can just focus on immutable characteristics and call everyone bigots if they don’t like your choice?
