Hamas ignited a whirlwind of international outrage when it carried out a surprise attack on Israel, starting a war that has killed at least 2,000 people so far. The organization’s operatives have slaughtered Israeli civilians, and taken many as hostage.

Needless to say, this has not helped the terrorist group’s image on the world stage, even as anti-Israel figures try to blame the fighting on the Jewish state. Apparently, Hamas recognizes this, and has tried to engage in some propagandizing to deflect attention away from its atrocities.

The terrorist organization published – then deleted – a post on social media showing Palestinian men carrying a dead child. The group claimed that the child was killed by members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which has been conducting airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, the territory that Hamas controls.

As you can see from the footage, there was a serious problem with the video: It is completely fake. The “child” the men are carrying is clearly a doll made to look like a real child who had been killed during the hostilities. It was a clear effort to make it seem as if Hamas is not the real monster in this heartbreaking and infuriating story.

Hamas, like the Islamic State (ISIS), is not unfamiliar with using social media as a tool for psychological warfare. The group also posted footage of its operatives posing with Israeli children they had kidnapped.

Hamas’ atrocities have become too numerous to count at this point. In the small town of Kfar Aza in southern Israel, the terrorists murdered 40 Israeli babies, some of whom were beheaded. The group also massacred over 200 hundred Israeli civilians at a music festival shortly after the war began.

These acts have led Israel to lay siege to the Gaza Strip and begin conducting airstrikes. Recently, it was reported that the IDF was sending in ground troops to root out the terrorists and eliminate them.

The propaganda coming from Hamas is part of an intricate tapestry of terror and manipulation. It wishes to paint Israel as the big bad guy oppressing the Palestinians. But, in reality, it is Hamas that is most responsible for the plight of the civilians living in the Gaza Strip. Indeed, the group is known for hiding its operatives and weapons among innocent civilians to either dissuade Israel from attacking, or to maximize the number of non-combatants so they can be used as a propaganda tool against the Jewish state.

Making matters worse is the fact that the United Nations, along with folks on the left in America, are intent on using this violence to smear Israel while downplaying the horrific actions of Hamas. However, with social media being a thing, it is much harder to hide what Hamas is doing, and the truth is still coming out.
