Only days after restoring former President Donald Trump to the platform, Twitter has brought back Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) personal account. As you have already guessed, leftists are already whining about it.

Under its previous management, the social media company had banned Greene’s personal account for supposedly violating its COVID-19 misinformation policy. She was still allowed to tweet from her official account, however.

On Monday, Greene posted a tweet celebrating her ban’s reversal and urged her followers to begin following her on her personal account:

I’m the only Member of Congress the unelected big tech oligarchs permanently banned.

On January 2, 2022, they violated my freedom of speech and ability to campaign & fundraise crying “covid misinformation.”

My account is back.

This is the latest in a series of high-profile, previously-banned, accounts that Twitter CEO Elon Musk has reinstated. As you can imagine, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from folks on the left side of the political spectrum.

Mike Sington, a senior executive at NBC Universal tweeted: “Flood of crazies return to Twitter. Marjorie Taylor Greene has her personal account restored.”

The Daily Beast’s Max Burns claimed this is another indication that Twitter is turning toward the Republican Party:

BREAKING: @elonmusk restores insurrectionist Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal Twitter account as Twitter continues its sharp turn to the @GOP.

Eric Hananoki from Media Matters referred to Greene as a “Parkland conspiracy theorist.” He wrote:

Sandy Hook and Parkland conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene…who also frequently appears on Alex Jones’ program, had her personal account reinstated on Twitter.

Musk has taken fire for restoring the accounts of controversial individuals. Shortly after taking over the company, he indicated that he did not believe in “lifetime bans,” much to the consternation of the censorship-obsessed hard left.

The CEO also announced that he would be forming a content moderation council to help him revamp the company’s application of its terms of service. He also assured advertisers that while he wants to promote free speech on the platform, it would not transform into a “free-for-all hellscape.”

Twitter has not yet given specifics for how it would manage content moderation. But despite the concerns of some, this is yet another indicator that the biased censorship seen before his takeover might be a thing of the past.
