There Can Be No Doubt That the FBI Is a Political Agency

At this point, it is clear that the FBI is not a neutral enforcer of federal laws. In fact, this reality was made apparent all throughout its history. But in 2022, the Bureau is decidedly biased in favor of the left.

There are few situations in which the agency’s political bias is as evident as it is when it comes to the abortion issue. After the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the debate over the procedure has held a more prominent place in political conversations.

But federal agencies are not supposed to become embroiled in partisan politics, and the FBI is sure as hell not supposed to choose which cases to take seriously based on political viewpoints. Unfortunately, that is precisely what they have done on the abortion issue.

Last week, video footage surfaced showing multiple armed FBI agents arresting Paul Vaughn, a 55-year-old man, who had participated in anti-abortion protests. The video went viral on Twitter.

A woman can be heard in the video asking why the agents were “banging on my door with a gun” and begging them to give her some answers about their actions. “You’re not going to tell me anything?” she asked as the agents went to their vehicles. One of them replied, “No, we’re not.”

Vaughn was one of 11 pro-lifers being indicted for – wait for it – blocking access to an abortion clinic in Tennessee during a protest in – wait for it – March 2021.

That’s right, dear reader.

Our vaunted Federal Bureau of Investigation is doing yeoman’s work, keeping America safe by taking these dangerous pro-life protesters off the streets. How many lives have been saved by hauling these people to jail? Vaughn’s plight mirrored that of the other activists, who also received not-so-friendly visits from armed FBI agents.

Meanwhile, there have been exactly zero arrests in connection with the wave of pro-abortion violent attacks carried out against pro-life organizations. In fact, not only has the FBI not bothered to apprehend any of those involved in these firebombings and acts of vandalism, they aren’t even talking about it.

Wisconsin Family Action, a pro-life group that was vandalized shortly after it became known that the Supreme Court was going to overturn Roe, told the Daily Signal that it has not heard from the Bureau since the firebombing was carried out. Along with the vandalism, the activists spray-painted a message on one of the walls: “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”

A pro-abortion terrorist group called Jane’s Revenge took credit for this and several other acts of vandalism against pro-life groups. The activists threatened that this was “just a warning” and promised more violence. “We demand the disbanding of all anti-choice establishments, fake clinics and violent anti-choice groups within the next 30 days,” they said in a message online.

Nevertheless, Julaine Appling, president of the Wisconsin Family Council, said she has heard “nothing from the FBI after they left our office the day of the attack, May 8.”

She indicated that she was not sure whether the Bureau or ATF took pictures of the scene because “they were behind closed doors all day long.”

Appling also indicated she never received “anything in writing” and recounted that the Bureau “called one time to check on a phone number … that was mid to late May. Crickets since then.”

Even further, another Daily Signal report noted that “The Federal Bureau of Investigation will not share whether it has made any arrests related to attacks on pro-life centers, organizations, and Catholic churches following the leak of the Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.”

From the report:

At least 83 Catholic churches and 73 pregnancy resource centers or pro-life organizations have been attacked since the draft opinion was leaked in May. And some of these pro-life centers and organizations have told The Daily Signal that they have not heard anything from federal authorities.

The FBI confirmed this week to The Daily Signal that it is investigating “a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers, faith-based organizations, and reproductive health clinics across the country, as well as to judicial buildings, including the U.S. Supreme Court.”

The agency’s statement said it “takes all violence and threats of violence very seriously” and is “working closely with our law enforcement partners at the national, state, and local levels to investigate these incidents.”

I’m gonna call BS on this.

The FBI has a near-unlimited supply of resources it could bring to bear on this matter. They were able to easily round up people who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol building despite the fact that there were thousands of people in the area. There is absolutely no reason why they haven’t made a single arrest in connection with these crimes.

To put it simply, the Bureau is lying. It is uninterested in apprehending the people responsible for these acts of vandalism and violence. They are not making much of an effort to address this problem. But they have all the time in the world to go after pro-life protesters who have not physically harmed anyone or damaged any property. These folks could be facing serious time in prison while those who bombed buildings are still free to sit in their parent’s basements eating avocado toast.

If the GOP does not hold the agency accountable when they have enough power in the federal government to do so, they do not deserve our votes. The FBI will not stop its political activism until it is reined in.
