Everyone is chiming in on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Former President Donald Trump is no exception. Trump, who has been given much of the credit for appointing the justices who voted to allow states to decide abortion policy, lauded the decision, saying it “will work out for everybody.”

During an appearance on Fox News, Trump praised the court’s ruling. “This is following the Constitution, and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago,” he said.

When asked if he had any comments for his supporters who are pro-choice, Trump said, “I think, in the end, this is something that will work out for everybody.”

He continued: “This brings everything back to the states where it has always belonged.”

However, in a rare moment of humility, Trump refused to take credit for the court’s decision. When asked if he believes he played a role in reversing Roe by appointing three justices to the Supreme Court, he said: “God made the decision.”

While he was in office, President Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, which gave it a conservative majority for the first time in decades, much to the consternation of the left, who feared the overturning of Roe. Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan dissented. Fox News reported:

The ruling came in the court’s opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which centered on a Mississippi law that banned abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The Republican-led state of Mississippi asked the Supreme Court to strike down a lower court ruling that stopped the 15-week abortion ban from taking place.

Justice Samuel Alito, who wrote the court’s majority opinion, argued that the Constitution never protected the right to abortion. He wrote:

“We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

Pro-abortion leftists making a lot of noise on the interwebs and airwaves, excoriating the court for its decision. Democratic politicians vowed to fight back against the ruling and it is believed they will seek to use executive power and the legislature to protect abortion as much as possible. This ruling is a significant step in the right direction when it comes to saving lives. Nevertheless, the battle will still continue regardless of the court’s decision.
