Democrats Are Failing at Everything

These days, finding a poll that shows positive results for Democrats is like trying to find an intelligent thought coming from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who looks like Dexter. The results of a National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) poll published on Wednesday revealed that Democrats are still screwing up their chances of maintaining control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

The poll surveyed voters in 77 battleground congressional districts that the GOP believes will play the biggest role in determining the outcome of the November elections. These are districts that President Joe Biden won by over five points in 2020. Within these districts, voters gave answers that should make Democrats even more frightened.

A majority (75 percent) of Americans polled believe the Democratic Party is “out of touch” with the public and is “condescending” towards voters. It turns out all that lecturing about how bigoted everyone is didn’t go over so well over the past year.

Biden’s approval rate is also rather dismal. Only 40 percent of voters in these districts have a favorable view of his performance in the White House so far, while 55 percent disapprove.

When it comes to the issues, Democrats are not faring so well. Inflation and the cost of living are the most critical issue for 26 percent of battleground voters. About 15 percent are most concerned about jobs and the economy.

GOP candidates have a 24-point lead among those concerned about the cost of living and jobs/economy on the generic ballot. Overall, Republicans are enjoying a 20-point lead.

Even further, about 56 percent of voters are worried about skyrocketing gas prices, and 41 percent say increased food costs are “impacting their families the most.” In a particularly horrible piece of news for Democrats, 52 percent of battleground voters “blame high gas prices on the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats’ unwillingness to allow more oil and gas production in the United States.” Only about 31 percent of respondents indicated they believe Biden’s claim that Russia is responsible for high gas prices.

Participants also seem to have lost faith in Democrats’ ability to handle certain issues. About 78 percent of respondents “are more likely to support a Republican candidate who will work to stop dangerous cartels from bringing drugs into America,” while 80 percent are “more likely to support a Republican who will advance energy innovation that will lead to economic growth and lower energy prices.” A majority of battleground voters also disagree with Democrats’ insistence on abandoning fossil fuels. A whopping 73 percent indicated they “favor increasing oil and gas production and exploration in the United States.”

It seems that on every issue Americans consider essential, the Democrats are losing. Their positions on these matters are in direct contradiction to what the people want, which is why it is not exactly shocking that voters perceive them as “out of touch.”

At every turn, the Democrats seem to be trying to develop new and creative ways to hand Republicans the victory in November. They have seemingly fallen on the wrong side of every issue important to the average American. While ordinary people are concerned about jobs, the economy, gas and food prices, and other matters, Democrats are busy pushing green energy, discussions on sexual matters with children under seven years old, and pushing far-left progressive ideology in the classroom.

This is not a winning strategy – but the left has not learned its lesson.

At this rate, the midterms are shaping up to be a bloodbath, and 2024 isn’t looking so good for Democrats either. President Biden is at a loss when it comes to his approval ratings, and his ineptitude is redounding negatively on Democrats hoping to retain their seats in Congress. Vice President Kamala Harris’ ratings are even worse. So the only thing the Democrats can hope for at this juncture is to minimize the political damage as much as possible. Unfortunately for them, it does not appear likely that even that strategy will pan out. But it will be a short-lived victory for Republicans if they fail to address the issues that voters consider to be the most important.
