Rapper Nicki Minaj made waves on social media recently when she expressed her concerns about taking the COVID-19 vaccine. The result was mass pearl-clutching and Vax Virtue Signaling coming from the left. However, some of the most unhinged – and dishonest – criticism came from MSNBC media activist Joy Reid. But Minaj, true to form, responded with a clapback of epic proportions.
Minaj’s original tweet discussed her cousin, who had a friend that took the jab and ended up having testicular issues. She wrote:
My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied

In a following tweet response to one of her followers, Minaj said she recommended getting the vaccination. She wrote:
I know babe. A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine. I’d def recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I have to go on tour, etc.

On her Monday evening show, Reid slammed Minaj for posting her vaccine-skeptical tweet. She said:
For you to use your platform to put people in the position of dying from a disease they don’t have to die from, oh my God. As a fan, as a hip-hop fan and as somebody who is your fan, I am so sad that you did that, sister. Oh my God.

Minaj wasn’t having it. She bombarded Reid with a series of tweets calling her out for her intellectually dishonest diatribe. She wrote:
This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets. “My God SISTER do better” imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman

She didn’t stop there. She posted another tweet mocking her for tap dancing for white progressives. She tweeted:
The two white men sittin there nodding their heads cuz this uncle tomiana doing the work chile. How sad.

Then, Minaj struck the deathblow when she referenced Reid’s history of making homophobic remarks:
A lying homophobic coon
I guess I can join in the reindeer games too right? Ppl can go on tv & lie on me, I can report on them, too right? Smiling face. Doesn’t have to be truths. It can be half truths.
Uncle Tomiana asked who on earth would trust the US FDA guys…

The truth – as Nicki Minaj rightly pointed out – is that Reid was being deceptive during that segment. As I pointed out earlier, the artist was not trying to dissuade people from taking the vaccine. Indeed, in the next tweet, she said she recommended it.
The real problem the left is having with Minaj’s comments is that they don’t conform 100% to the Democrat-approved narrative. For these people, questioning the COVID-19 vaccine in any way, shape, or form is verboten, like walking into a church and urinating on the cross. It is why they have such a visceral reaction when people voice skeptical views about the injection.
Minaj later stated she would be doing more research to determine whether she would get vaccinated, which is exactly what any thinking human being should do. This isn’t to say the story about her cousin’s friend is valid – his junk might be suffering due to other reasons. But there is nothing wrong with encouraging people to do their own research and make their own decisions. But, as we know, the left isn’t exactly friendly to this principle.
