Sidney Powell Reappears To Make Yet Another Stupid Claim

Just when you thought 2021 couldn’t get more stupid, Sidney Powell, Lord of the Kraken, says “hold my beer,” and gets to work. During a Saturday conference, the attorney claimed that former President Donald Trump could be reinstated and finish out the rest of President Joe Biden’s term.

On Saturday, Powell spoke at a conservative conference in Dallas called the “For God & Country Patriot Roundup,” which also included former Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in its speaker lineup. Both of these individuals were vocally critical of the 2020 presidential election.

When she addressed the audience, Powell suggested that the election could be overturned and that Trump could regain his position in the Oval Office.

“There are cases where elections have been overturned, but there’s never been one at the presidential level, which everybody will jump to point out, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done. It should be that he can simply be reinstated, that a new inauguration date is set.

“And Biden is told to move out of the White House. And President Trump should be moved back in. I’m sure there’s not going to be credit for time lost, unfortunately. Because the Constitution itself sets the date for inauguration. But he should definitely get the remainder of his term and make the best of it. That’s for sure.”

The Kraken lawyer also said Trump should have pushed back harder against the result of the election.

“He had all the tools he needed. From the day after the election, everyone else around him at the White House was telling him to just pack it up and go home.”

Shortly after the outcome of the election was decided, Powell joined the chorus of voices claiming the race was stolen through the use of widespread voter fraud. She became a key figure in the effort to challenge the results of the election in the swing states Trump lost.

Powell frequently promised to provide damning evidence of a conspiracy involving Dominion Voting Systems, whose machines were used to register votes, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and secretary of state Brad Raffensperger. During an interview with Newsmax, she said she would “blow up” Georgia with the information she supposedly gathered and even referred to her revelations as “biblical.”

Trump’s legal team, led by attorney Rudy Giuliani, eventually distanced itself from Powell. Giuliani and Jenna Ellis released a statement explained that Powell was “not a member of the Trump legal team.”

Ellis responded to Powell’s claim on Twitter, stating: “No, President Trump is not going to be ‘reinstated.’”

“The election was lawless, [and] six states allowed their delegates to vote by false certifications, but the [electoral college] process happened,” she wrote. “The Constitution has only one process for removal of a sitting president: impeachment and conviction.”

Powell is currently facing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion who denies her claims that it engaged in voter fraud. The suit claims the lawyer lied to “financially enrich herself.” The company has also filed lawsuits against Fox News, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, and Giuliani. Powell is attempting to get the suit dismissed, arguing that her statements about the company were expressing an opinion.

Regardless of what one believes about the presidential election, the results have been decided. There is absolutely no mechanism by which Trump can be reinstated. The only way he will occupy the Oval Office again is if he runs and wins in 2024. However, it is not yet clear whether he intends to seek another term.
