Facebook Places Restrictions on Mark Levin’s Page Right Before the Election

Social media companies are pulling out all the stops to ensure that conservative voices are limited on their platforms. On Monday, Facebook placed restrictions on Fox News host Mark Levin’s account, claiming that he repeatedly spread misinformation.

Levin took to Twitter on Monday to inform his audience of what happened and to express his disgust with the company for restricting his page.

“Facebook has now placed severe restrictions on my Facebook page on the eve before the election based on an extremely dishonest Politifact review of my link to an accurate story,” he wrote. “I will not be intimidated or threatened by Facebook. You can also find my posts on Twitter and Parler.”

According to Breitbart News, “In the ‘fact checked’ post, Levin called Joe Biden a ‘fraud’ for wearing a mask in front of cameras but not on board a plane.”

Facebook’s fact-checkers, which are known for being biased in favor of the left, pointed out that the photo in Levin’s post was taken in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic occurred.

“Our policies are clear that people who repeatedly post misinformation may see their Page distribution reduced and restrictions placed on their ability to advertise from their Page,” said a Facebook spokeswoman.

This is a common excuse that companies like Facebook and Twitter give for censoring conservative views. But it is apparent that the company’s claims amount to a Mt. Everest of horse crap.

These “third-party fact-checkers” essentially function as the cyber Gestapo, rooting out conservative posts that they can use to throttle right-leaning content. Facebook, while claiming to crack down on misinformation, lacks the same energy when it comes to obvious deceptions being peddled by the left.

For example, Joe Biden’s campaign was launched on the Charlottesville “fine people” hoax, which has been debunked many times over. Facebook users disseminated the Russia collusion hoax using the platform. In fact, it seems that you can tell any lie you want on the social media site as long as it benefits the left.

Perhaps Levin, or the person who handles his social media, mistakenly posted something that wasn’t true. We’re in 2020, and fake news abounds. It was recently discovered that someone doctored a video of Biden to make it look like he greeted the wrong city in a speech. It went viral before the deception was revealed.

The notion that Levin’s account should be restricted is absurd on its face, and it is clear that, like Twitter with the New York Post Hunter Biden story, Facebook is trying to minimize the level of conservative opinions to which people might be exposed on the day before Election Day. If Trump does win re-election, social media censorship is almost guaranteed to be an issue he will tackle in his second term. Either way, at some point, a reckoning is coming.
