The media’s job is ostensibly to speak truth to power and expose the lies that our government officials tell us. But every day, the press shows us that this notion is a complete and utter joke.

Last year, the former Vice President told an audience that he attended college at Delaware State University, a historically black institution. But the college recently stated that Uncle Joe’s claim wasn’t accurate. 

In October 2019, Biden, who was still in the race to secure the Democratic nomination, gave a speech at Wilson High School in Florence right before the South Carolina primary elections. The school was founded in 1866 by the Freedman’s Bureau to provide education to black children. 

“I got started out of an HBCU, Delaware State — now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State,” Biden declared. “They’re my folks.”

Unfortunately for the would-be panderer-in-chief, Carlos Holmes, director of news service for Delaware State, told The Washington Times that the former Vice President was never a student at the university. Holmes also points point out that Biden made two appearances to give commencement speeches. 

“Vice President Biden did not attend DSU,” Holmes said in an email. “However he was the Commencement keynote speaker in 2003 and [2016], and during the former, he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree.”

Whoops. 

Naturally, left-leaning corporate media outlets published scathing rebukes of the former Vice President for deceptively claiming that he attended a historically-black university so that he can appeal to the black voters who ensured he would win the nomination. Al Sharpton and Charles Blow were among the black Democrats who called for an apology.

Just kidding. None of that happened. 

In fact, as of this writing, not a single progressive news source has covered the story. No high-profile leftists have criticized Biden for telling this lie. But the reason why progressives are keeping hush on this story is obvious. They want Trump gone so badly they are willing to reveal to the world what many of us already know: Progressives don’t give a damn about racism. 

We don’t need to play “put the shoe on the other foot,” here. We know precisely what would happen if Trump or another Republican politician lied about attending an HBCU just to appeal to black voters. But when it’s one of their own, they remain silent. Their supposed principles are revealed to be nonexistent. And those who support them remain unaware or uncaring. 

This story is yet another example showing that our Fourth Estate is not a valid repository of information. Members of the corporate press are not here to inform the American public, they exist only to collaborate with Democrats and progressives to advance their agenda. Nevertheless, they can’t keep their hypocrisy completely hidden when there are other outlets willing to expose it.
