Minority Voters Are The Key To Stopping The Rise of Socialism

One of the most important rules of politics is that in order to win, you must know the playing field. It is a reality that the progressive left seems to understand better than the right. Anyone paying attention to the political stage over the past few years knows that the socialist movement is fighting a fierce war against the Democratic establishment in the government.

Even worse, they are slowly gaining ground in the cultural and political zeitgeist of American society. While the conservative movement is valiantly fighting against the spread of Marxism, it seems that they have not yet understood the progressives’ strategy or formed a viable counterattack.

But what are they missing?

The answer lies in this question: Aside from being ardent statists, what do all four members of “The Squad” have in common? Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) all represent predominantly minority districts. Another thing these four have in common is the fact that Justice Democrats – a far left political action committee – are largely responsible for their victories in the 2018 midterm elections.

But let’s dig a little deeper. Earlier this year, Ocasio-Cortez announced that her recently-created super PAC which is called “Courage to Change,” is supporting seven female candidates running for office. One of these individuals is seeking a Senate seat, but the other six are running for House seats.

Two of these candidates, Marie Newman and Jessica Cisneros are seeking to oust Democratic moderate incumbents in Illinois and Texas respectively. Kara Eastman is running in Nebraska’s Democratic primary to challenge the Republican incumbent, Rep. Don Bacon. The other three, which include Teresa Fernandez in New Mexico, Georgette Gomez in California, and Samelys Lopez in New York, are running for seats whose current occupants are either not seeking re-election or running for a different office.

I’ll ask the same question about some of those who are being supported by AOC’s PAC. What do Teresa Fernandez, Georgette Gomez, Samelys Lopez, and Jessica Cisneros have in common? You guessed it. These candidates are seeking to win offices in districts that are populated mainly by minorities.

The socialist movement’s strategy should be obvious. Just as they did with The Squad, the socialist movement is focusing their electoral efforts on overwhelmingly minority districts. But why? Pew Research data reveals that the majority of black and Hispanic Democrats identify as “moderate” or “conservative.”

The answer is simple. If these candidates manage to win their primaries, they will almost assuredly win the election. The strategy worked with The Squad, and it could work here. The reason why the socialist political machine is propping up candidates in predominantly minority districts is that they know the Republicans will not bother to compete in these areas.

While President Donald Trump is making a concerted effort to attract black voters, the rest of the GOP is sticking with the usual establishment tactic: Ignore minority voters, then complain when socialists win seats in Congress. The president will increase his numbers with black voters because, unlike his predecessors, he is actually putting forth the effort. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the GOP establishment.

This, dear reader, is one of the most important reasons why I criticize the right for its failure to reach out to a wider swath of American voters. Put simply, if the conservative movement does not start courting minority voters, the United States will become a socialist nation. It is inevitable. The demographics of the country are rapidly changing, and this voting bloc is becoming increasingly critical.

It is apparent that the former Party of Lincoln can no longer afford to ignore minorities in their electoral efforts. It is not only the party that will suffer – but if the socialist crowd manages to earn more influence in the government, the entire nation will suffer.
