Adam Laxalt is challenging the federal government. This time it is related to federal sage grouse land use restrictions.

This may not seem like a big deal, but it is worth noting that in a state where federal land control is massive and resented, the Republican Governor, Brian Sandoval is opposed to challenging Obama.

What makes this so significant is that Laxalt was able to get the Republican delegation on board with him to stand up to the Governor. Governor Sandoval claims he was working with the Obama Administration.

This follows on the heels of Laxalt challenging Obama on immigration, a move Sandoval also opposed. Sandoval immediately started attacking Laxalt for that too. But, polling shows the Nevada public supports Laxalt.

With a Senate seat opening up in Nevada and Laxalt being the only serious conservative in statewide office in Nevada with a change for more, it is interesting the Republican Governor is relying on liberal bloggers and press to smear and attack Laxalt.

I know Adam. He’s a good guy. Conservatives nationwide need to have his back in Nevada. The state of [mc_name name=’Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000146′ ] and Brian Sandoval has an actual, honest conservative in leadership who is making a difference.
