Seriously. Sometimes a tweet is just a tweet.
Hi there,
I’m a reporter with PunditFact. I want to let Erick know about a fact-check I’m working on about his RedState piece that starts: “Tim Cook and the left are happy to do business in countries that stone to death or otherwise jail gay people, but will not do business with Indiana.” (There was a parenthetical aside that I took out for clarity).
We’re fact-checking whether Tim Cook is not doing business with Indiana. This strikes us as a misleading interpretation of Tim Cook’s WaPo op-ed about Indiana’s RFRA.
He wrote: Our message, to people around the country and around the world, is this: Apple is open. Open to everyone, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, how they worship or who they love. Regardless of what the law might allow in Indiana or Arkansas, we will never tolerate discrimination.
Unless I missed something that Erick read elsewhere, this does not say he is boycotting Indiana, or anything like it, and I didn’t find any language to suggest that in the column.
If you would like to respond, please holler at me by 4 p.m. today. And if you have a better way of contacting him, please let me know.
Thanks,
Katie
We have a long standing policy here at RedState of not collaborating with the leftists who pose as objective fact checkers. We also tend to ban people who rely on groups like Politifact because it’s a big tip that they’re leftwingers. The role of fact checker is just the latest scam from the left. No longer treated as objective reporters, they’ve carved out a page of the newspaper where “fact checkers” claim to be objective and say things like Barack Obama’s “if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance” are gospel truth until exposed otherwise.
