O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying of my soul,
qthere is no salvation for him in God.

If you’re following me on Twitter, you know this verse hits home. The other day, needling the global warming alarmist crowd, I tweeted that Christ’s return was certain and global warming is not. The frenzy and hysteria from these people — many of whom also scream “Science!” while holding that gender is a choice — was breathtaking. One member of this modern religion declared, “you’re really goin to claim the term ‘global warming’ means that temperatures will literally get warmer?” He subsequently deleted that tweet.Another, in declaring the skeptics of their religion fools for believing record cold temperatures negate proof of global warming, tried to convince me that record high temperatures in Australia are proof of global warming. In other words, blizzards are not evidence against global warming, but Hurricane Sandy is evidence in favor of global warming.Then they go back to the phrase “climate change” once skeptics point out that they, by their own admission, rule out single weather events as a sign of anything.In this banter, there are two things worth pointing out.First, the religion of global warming now calls skeptics “deniers.” One lost soul — of course she declared herself both a progressive and atheist — declared me stupid for doubting climate change. Another, also an atheist, declared me unfit to live with such a dangerous view as believing the climate does not change.Isn’t that the point though? I do not know a single person on the planet who does not accept that the climate changes. The climate has always changed and will always change. We know the oceans have been lower and have risen. We know there was once an ice age. We know there were times on the planet much warmer than now.But while you and I accept a higher power in the form of the almighty God, they accept a computer model as evidence for their religion and any evidence that contracts those models must ignored, dismissed, or read on faith as further proof for global warmer … errr … climate change.They are convinced that man himself is a god capable of freezing or heating the planet. They declare that men are adaptable and evolution the key to man’s existence, but demand men stop being men because they cannot adapt to a changing climate.Second, I find that it is not without coincidence that the most vocal proponents of global warming tend to be atheists or agnostic. Having chosen to reject the Creator, they’ve decided to worship his creation or themselves. Most striking, in the most virulent responses to my initial tweet are those who flat out reject the existence of Jesus of Nazareth. Not only do they refuse to accept him as the Christ, they refuse to accept he was ever even born.We have first hand accounts of Christ’s life. We have many second hand accounts of Christ’s life. We have the written investigations of an educated doctor who interviewed those who surrounded Christ, including his mother, and that same doctor witnessed some of Christ’s apostles first hand. But these militant atheists would deny us those accounts and demand proof of Christ’s existence without them. It is much akin to telling someone to prove Julius Caesar lived without referring to his own words or those of the eyewitnesses. In fact, there is an atheist website that declares between Christ and Caesar, “In contrast [to Christ], Caesar’s words and deeds are fully documented by multiple witnesses.” This works if one rejects the Gospel of Luke, his Acts of the Apostles, and John’s own eyewitness account — let alone the books of Matthew and Mark.In truth, if one does not want to believe, they will not only not believe, but dismiss all proof. In the same way, if one does want to believe, they will embrace the teachings and writings and reconcile those parts that might seem difficult to reconcile. This is the same for the Christian and the same for the global warming crowd. Theirs is as much a religion as Christianity. While I have a bunch of books that are several thousand years old, they have computer models. The major difference is the consistency of those several thousand year old works and the inconsistency of the computer models and their priests who once declared the world would cool.In Church today, our pastor preached on Psalm 1.

Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

The more one surrounds oneself with the wicked and scoffers, the more one will be led down those paths. The angry atheists and attendees of the church of global warming feel compelled to not just be dismissive of Christ, but hostile to him, because they’ve chosen to worship creation instead of the Creator. They hold mutually contradictory thoughts in the head. They cling to science except when science interferes with their faith. They end their day wondering how anyone could think “global warming” actually means the globe is getting warmer.For two thousand years, most people have taken for granted that Christ lived. To Christians he is the Lord. To Muslims he is a prophet. But these hard hearted attendees of the Church of Global Warming are convinced that the multiple generations going back 2000 years are wrong and they themselves are right. Because science! Except when science competes with the tenets of their faith, e.g. being gay happens in the womb and being a boy or girl is a choice.Christians, who often live in bubbles surrounded by other believers, sometimes need to be reminded that the world is not just indifferent, but outright hostile to Christ. And more and more they are not content to treat Christ like a man, but to pretend he never existed and is, therefore, easier to ignore. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. In Antarctica, the ship of fools got stuck in the ice while they explored global warming. They had to be rescued by another ship. Now it too is stuck in the ice. “[T]housands of trees will have to be planted to offset the carbon footprint from the prolonged rescue effort.” Planting trees has become the new Hail Mary.
