Please take a moment to watch the debate on Good Morning America between Eric Boehlert of Media Matters for America and Andrew Brietbart of, among other outlets, Big Government.  Eric Boehlert states the following about the Tea Party movement:

There are clearly racist elements.  If you look at the Tea Party media, Glenn Beck is now saying that Barack Obama is orchestrating a race war.  Rush Limbaugh is saying that Obama is keeping unemployment artificially high to extract revenge on white America.  There are clearly racist elements.  There is race baiting.  The’re out of control and Andrew’s smear of Shirley Sherrod is the latest example.

Where is the evidence that Glenn Beck said “Obama is orchestrating a race war?”  What Beck said, according to Media Matters own audio link is Glenn Beck requests on his radio show for his listeners to research racist left wing groups.

Black liberation theology, Black Panthers, Reverends white or black, doesn’t matter.  Anybody in the Weather Underground, old film clips, old documentaries, anything from the 1960’s radicals.  Look for what they were saying and please send them to me.  Do it at Twitter account Glen Beck.  Do it at Fox Tips at FOX News.com.  I will tell you that it fills up rapidly.  I need you to pull it off.  I need you to archive it.  Burn it to a DVD because a lot of times these things will be scrubbed.  I also want anybody to go through all of the Jeremiah Wright texts looking for this context “collective salvation.”  This is critical because it ties the left together.  It is a part of social justice.  If you can do none of those things, I ask you to do this, I ask you to unite with people and be peaceful.  These guys need a response.  This is what they have been waiting for.  They want a race war.  We must be peaceful people.  They are going to poke and poke and poke and our government is going to stand by and let them do it.  We must be .. we must take the role of Martin Luther King.  Because I don’t believe that Martin Luther King believed in “kill all white babies.”    

That is far different than saying that Obama is orchestrating a race war.  Also, would a racist quote Martin Luther King, if he were making a racist point.  Nope.  When you put the Beck statement in context, unlike the race baiters at Media Matters, then you get the whole picture.  Beck is making a point.  There are left wing racists who want to do harm to people on the base of race. And Beck is worried that this Administration that allow groups like the New Black Panther Party to block access to voting booths without sanction would not be aggressive in stopping it. As for the alleged Rush Limbaugh quote “Obama is keeping unemployment artificially high to extract revenge on white America” – Rush never said that.  Here is the full quote from Media Matters own web site:

This man has not lifted a finger to create any private sector jobs and the dirty little secret is that he does not intend to.  Why aren’t we growing jobs in this country like we used to?  Why aren’t we?  It’s not hard to do.  All kinds of text book evidence.  Real life historical evidence of how to do it.  We are not doing it.  We are not doing it on purpose.  It’s pay back time.  All those people who are unemployed.  It is time for you to learn what it is like to be an American all these 200 years.  Greatest country on earth.  Super power.  Well, might have been for some people.  You are going to find out what is has been like for 200 years for some of us to be an American. It is pay back time.  That is what is going on here.   

Now we all know that Rush uses humor to make a point.  I don’t think anybody really believes that Rush didn’t have his tongue firmly implanted in his cheek when he said this.  He was mocking the President, but you can’t credibly conclude that Rush is racist because he was making fun of President Obama for the Stimulus plan and high unemployment numbers.  Rush was making a joke — lighten up Media Matters.Eric Boehlert of Media Matters smears Beck, Limbaugh and Brietbart as all being racists.  The irony is this is in a debate about race baiting, yet Media Matters official spokesman accuses no less than FOX News, Rush and Brietbart of racism without putting any of these comments in context.  Somebody needs to call Boehlert to the carpet for overt race baiting.  George Stephanopoulos ignored this comment and never challenged Boehlert on those serious charges. Is there anything worse than smearing three prominent conservatives of racism without carefully making a case that these individuals are actually racist?  It is an effective tool that the left has used to attack conservatives.  Just call them racists and you put conservatives on the defensive.  You have to remember that the Journolist trained left wing media types to call conservatives racist as a means to discredit them.  It is an overt and explicit tactic as reported by the Daily Caller.   Spencer Ackerman of the Washington independent urged members of the Journolist (a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists) to accuse conservatives of racism when dealing with the controversy over Barack Obama’s relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright:

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

Boehlert clearly is following that strategy and calling the leaders of the conservative media racists without providing any substantive evidence to support that charge.  Maybe it is time for Boehlert to step down from his perch at Media Matters for race baiting.
