House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suffered a ten-second mental lapse during a Thursday press conference.
She had been reading from a letter she’d sent to President Trump expressing her alarm that “here in our nation’s capital, the thousands who have turned out peacefully have been confronted with the deployment of various security officers from multiple jurisdictions, including unidentified federal law enforcement personnel.”
Pelosi says, “Well, I preface it by saying, as you probably saw, there are military on the steps of Linc–of Lincoln Memorial.”
Then, “du…le…uh…bu…a…the…uh…what is it? I-I’ll read it to you.” She returns to the letter and begins to read. “Soldiers on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.”
Pelosi, who turned 80 this year, has had many moments like this. It might be nature’s way of telling her it’s time to go home.
Pssssst: Nancy, there was a reason why there were soldiers on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Along with several other landmarks surrounding the National Mall, it had been defaced by “peaceful protestors” earlier in the week. “Y’all not tired yet?” had been written in black spray paint on the Lincoln Memorial.
