A 15-page research dossier prepared by the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance which details China’s deception throughout the coronavirus pandemic was leaked to The Saturday Telegraph, an Australian media outlet. The “Five Eyes” include the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

The document states that China knowingly misled the world by concealing and destroying evidence of the outbreak which has cost tens of thousands of lives. The report concludes this was “an assault on international transparency.”

The dossier discusses China’s “deadly denial of human-to-human transmission,” the silencing or “disappearing” of doctors and scientists who spoke out, the destruction of evidence of the virus from genomic studies laboratories, the “bleaching of wildlife market stalls,” along with the refusal to provide live virus samples to international scientists working on a vaccine.”

On December 31, the day China reported news of the outbreak to the World Health Organization (WHO), the government began a censoring campaign which involved deleting terms such as “SARS variation,” “Wuhan Seafood market” and “Wuhan Unknown Pneumonia” from search engines and social media. On January 3, “China’s National Health Commission ordered virus samples to be either moved to designated testing facilities or destroyed, while simultaneously issuing a “no-publication order” related to the disease.”

The Telegraph includes a timeline of key events in China’s cover-up which I’ve reprinted at the end of this post. On January 5, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission stopped releasing daily updates on new cases. After some blowback, they resumed on January 18.

On January 10, a government official announced that the outbreak was “under control” and called the virus a “mild condition.” Two days later, a Shanghai professor’s lab was closed down after it shared data on the virus’ genetic sequence with the outside world.

Two significant events occurred on January 14. The first was a private warning to colleagues from the director of the National Health Commission that the virus was likely to develop into a major public health event.

The second was an announcement via tweet from the WHO which read: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus.” This was especially egregious because the Chinese knew in early December that the virus had been transmitted from patient zero to his wife. The dossier calls out the WHO for spreading what they should have known and probably did know was false information. Officials in Taiwan had told the WHO that the virus had spread between humans on December 31, followed by officials in Hong Kong on January 4.

The dossier states that throughout the month of February, “Beijing [pressed] the US [sic], Italy, India, Australia, Southeast Asian neighbours [sic] and others not to protect themselves via travel restrictions, even as [China] impose[d] severe restrictions at home. Millions of people [left] Wuhan after the outbreak and before Beijing lock[ed] down the city on January 23.”

The Chinese government prohibited all domestic flights from flying into or out of Wuhan to contain the virus in one region of the country. At the same time, they allowed international flights in and out of Wuhan. This may have been the most evil deed of all. Of course, we don’t know what was in their minds, but it sure looks as if, once the CCP realized the magnitude of the crisis and how devastating it would be for the Chinese economy, they unleashed the virus on the world so they wouldn’t suffer alone.

Recently, the European Union prepared a report which blamed the seriousness of the pandemic on Chinese disinformation. In what truly was thuggish behavior, China threatened to end trade with several of the member nations unless they struck that language from their report.

Similarly, the dossier states that following “Australia’s call for an independent inquiry into the pandemic, China threatened to cut off trade with Australia.” It also mentions that China was furious over U.S. calls for transparency.

The Telegraph notes that Australians believe the virus originated in the Wuhan wet market while most U.S. officials are “increasingly confident” that it began in the Wuhan lab.

The Telegraph also reported that key figures at the Wuhan Institute of Virology “previously worked or trained in Australian government labs where they conducted research on pathogens in live bats as part of an ongoing partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. According to the dossier, the team’s work at the Wuhan lab involved discovering samples of coronavirus within a cave in Yunnan province and synthesizing a bat-derived coronavirus that could not be cured.”

All I can say is, if President Xi was angry over the EU’s report, he’s going to be madder than a sack full of rattlesnakes when he hears about the dossier.
