Rabid anti-Trumper and MSNBC host Joy Reid could hardly contain her glee after viewing the following tweet this morning:
https://twitter.com/howroute/status/1211814774981431296
I don’t know who Max Howroute is either. On his twitter page, he claims to be a filmmaker, a writer (for TV he notes), a comedian, an actor, and an activist.
Anyway, this young man shared a brief video of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo which had recently aired on Russia Today, which he referred to as “Putin’s State TV.” In the clip, Pompeo is laughing, clearly joking with his audience, as he tells them, “I was the CIA director. We lied, we cheated, we stole. We had entire training courses.”
Howroute’s tweet insinuated that Pompeo made an actual appearance on Russia Today, when in reality these remarks had been recorded at a Texas A&M University Q&A event this spring (video is shown below.)
In a now-deleted tweet, Reid wrote the following:
Can you imagine what Republicans would have said if Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had gone on Russian State TV and said this during the Obama administration? Now? Republicans are unphased by this remarkably brazen Kremlin bowing. Putin really did win the year…
Immediately, Reid’s outrage spread among her followers. Here are several of their responses (via Twitchy):
So, this is clearly on-air admission is “Aid and Comfort to the Enemy”. Literally comfort. How in the hell is the congress and senate not convincing to remove and prosecute?
OMG. This is horrifying. How can this happen? U.S. Secretary of State on Russian news saying things like that? It may not be actual treason, but it certainly is treason-like.
How is this not a form of treason?
What in the world is going on?
What the hell is he doing!?
Putin’s bidding.
By mid-afternoon, this story had been debunked. And Reid quietly deleted her tweet.
Several journalists were quick to recall the 2018 Reid scandal which erupted after old homophobic tweets she had allegedly written surfaced. I say allegedly because Reid made the outlandish claim that someone had hacked her computer and written the offensive posts.
The speech was delivered on 15 April 2019, College Station, Texas. RT used a clip from it.

Reid invented an elaborate lie – in 2018 – about a time-traveling hacker who wrote her bigoted articles. She claimed she requested an *FBI investigation* to find the non-existent hacker she made up.
Now look at the Fake News above. It's so toxic for the credibility of journalism

I'm assuming Joy Reid actually tweeted this, not Joy Reid's Hacker (always good to check, you never know!).
That's a clip of a Pomepo event from April 2019. I'm not surprised you're unaware of it — why would MSNBC ever air something damning about its CIA heroes/employees?

Finally, Reid’s tweet asked, “Can you imagine what Republicans would have said if Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had gone on Russian State TV?”
Well, apparently, Hillary actually did go on Russia Today. So did Barack Obama. See the clips of both Hillary and Obama recorded during their appearances. (H/T Twitchy)
What say you, Joy?
Joy?
