During an interview with Politico, President Trump was asked what he thought of Democratic presidential nomination candidate and current Mayor of South Bend, IN, Pete Buttigieg.
His response? “Alfred E. Neuman cannot become president of the United States,” referring to the impish Mad Magazine cartoon character.
Breitbart’s Facebook page has posted a photo of the pair, side by side, and I think you’ll agree that the resemblance is rather striking!
Politico contacted Buttigieg for a comment and, in an obvious dig about Trump’s age, he said: “I’ll be honest. I had to Google that. I guess it’s just a generational thing. I didn’t get the reference. It’s kind of funny, I guess. But he’s also the president of the United States and I’m surprised he’s not spending more time trying to salvage this China deal.”
I wonder if anyone has ever pointed out the Mayor’s likeness to Neuman before?

Breitbart’s Charlie Spiering posted a clip from a Trump rally showing him making fun of the candidate’s last name. Could Buttigieg be getting under the President’s skin?

The funny thing about Trump’s nicknames is that they stick.
Every time I see a photo of Elizabeth Warren, I see “Pocahontas.” Hillary Clinton will forever be “Crooked Hillary.”
And from this day forward, many voters will associate Pete Buttigieg with Alfred E. Neuman.
