Never one to waste a political opportunity, President Obama took to Twitter to push a debunked poll in the wake of Christopher Lane’s shooting death and the school lockdown today in Georgia:

Here’s what I wrote in April about the numbers Obama cites:

Concerning that “90% of Americans support gun control/background checks (when they already exist), here’s the meat and taters on that: the poll was a minuscule size of barely over 1,200 people and it oversampled Democrats. It was done for MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

One must be either illiterate or lying to interpret a small-sampled, skewed poll gleaned from blue states as “90%,” 9 in 10, etc. They’re basically making up numbers at this point.
