Alert: Ask Your Congressman to Support Tom Price for Conference Chair

We’ve been discussing the importance of the RSC Chairman race over the past few weeks and the imperative to elect Tom Graves as the next chairman.  That is undoubtedly the most important leadership election for this term.  However, there is another election into which conservatives must interject themselves: the race for Conference Chair between Tom Price and Cathy McMorris-Rodgers.

Aside for the fact that Price is clearly more conservative, he has shown a willingness to challenge Boehner on the most crucial issue.  At present, many Americans are receiving letters in the mail informing them that their health insurance premiums will go up another 15-30%.  This comes on the heels of sharp increases over the past two years.  Yet, John Boehner has preemptively ceded the field by proclaiming that Obamacare is the law of the land.

Tom Price, a physician, has committed to keeping up the fight against Obamacare.  He responded to Boehner’s surrender by saying, “I can tell you, as a physician, we’re not opposed to the president’s health care law because of this election. We’re opposed because it’s bad policy and it’s bad for patients all across this land.”

This alone is a reason to elect Tom Price Conference Chairman, an office that is responsible for messaging and communicating conservative policy positions to the public.  Cathy McMorris-Rodgers has never dissented from leadership once.  There is no daylight between her and Boehner.  We need at least one seat at the leadership table.

Please call your Republican House members and request that they vote for Tom Price during Wednesday’s leadership elections.
