The media war for support from the world by Ukraine continues its drumbeat. This morning, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team issued a new video meant to highlight the bravery of his country’s effort to resist the Russian invasion.

This video comes even as Ukraine begins to feel the sheer weight of the Russian military machine make inroads into its defenses. Russia has moved into the port city of Mariupol, where stories have emerged from the western press that civilians are bearing the brunt of the suffering from the Russian invasion. The BBC highlighted the plight of civilians in its piece, “In Mariupol, children bear the brunt of Vladimir Putin’s war“.
On Saturday, CNN reported that Mariupol residents are being forced to go to Russia. And USA Today noted the US fears Russia could develop ‘concentration camps.’
Ukraine and the West also remain uncomfortable that Russian “humanitarian corridors” lead towards Russia, according to the Guardian newspaper, even as over two million Ukrainians have fled west since the war began.
