Last week, I told you despite the glowing reviews from the mainstream media and the Democrat talking heads, the Democrats virtual convention or socialism infomercial/telethon was a dud.

Polling after the convention showed zero bounce for the historic ticket that includes the first female, Black, Jamaican and Indian vice presidential nominee for a major party.

The two early problems I noticed with the ticket (Senator Harris’ policy flip flops and criminal justice record plus Joe Biden’s diminishing mental capacity and propensity for gaffes) are problems the electorate seems to have identified and have concerns with as well.

I find it noteworthy that Joe Biden’s acceptance speech garnered a larger audience than President Trump’s acceptance speech  but President Trump is the candidate leaving his convention with a polling bounce:

President Donald Trump needed a convention bounce — and he got one, emerging from the Republican National Convention with an improved standing against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, fueled by gains among white voters and those in the suburbs, though he still trails the former vice president nationwide. A new Morning Consult poll conducted Friday that asked 4,035 likely voters which candidate they would pick found Biden leading Trump by 6 percentage points, 50 percent to 44 percent. It marked a 4-point improvement from his standing heading into the convention on Aug. 23, when Biden led 52 percent to 42 percent. Friday’s poll had a 2-point margin of error, compared with a 1-point margin of error for responses gathered among 4,810 likely voters on Aug. 23.

It appears the Morning Consult poll is not an outlier:

For its latest Yahoo News survey, which was conducted from Aug. 27 to Aug. 28, YouGov recontacted respondents who participated in Yahoo News-YouGov poll one month earlier to gauge how the RNC and other events have affected their views. The poll taken at the end of July showed Biden with a lead of a little less than 9 percentage points. In the new survey, those same registered voters give Biden an edge of just over 6 points (47 percent to 41 percent).

This is of course great news for the President but potentially even greater news is a surprising poll result I heard Sunday on Meet the Press. In a random act of journalism, MTP moderator Chuck Todd  sent a veiled warning to the Harris/Biden (not a typo) Campaign and the Democrat faithful.

The warning was a graphic showing the Democrat Party steadily losing support from African American males since the election of former President Barack Obama.

From 2008 to 2016, African American male support for the Democrat presidential nominee has dropped a whopping 15 points! Support for the Republican presidential nominee since 2008 has risen 8 points.

This latest poll from The Hill suggests that, not only are African American males disenchanted with the Democrat Party’s presidential and vice presidential nominees, but so are many within the broader African American electorate.

President Trump‘s support among black voters rose 9 percentage points amid the Republican National Convention, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds. Twenty-four percent of registered black voters in the Aug. 22-25 survey, which included the first two days of the convention, said they approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 76 percent said they disapprove. That is up 9 points from the previous survey conducted Aug. 8-11, where the President received 15 percent support among this group.

I believe the numerous African American speakers at the convention, coupled with the intense focus on issues affecting our community, is wholly responsible for this positive polling shift.

I also believe many African Americans, especially men, don’t trust Senator Harris and her record on criminal justice. Many in the community see her as a political chameleon and an opportunist willing to do or say anything to get elected.

A third factor is the total lack of law and order around the country in these traditionally controlled Democrat cities. Eighty-one percent of African Americans DO NOT support defunding police despite what the paid off DNC hacks say on MSDNC and CNN.

Do I expect Donald Trump to win a majority of the African Americn vote this November? No. Despite polls showing the President with 36% African American approval, do I believe he will receive 36% of the African American vote? No.

What I do believe is the President will improve upon his 13% of the African American male vote to possibly 20% or more and that increase could make the difference of four more additional years for the President to serve.
