Phoenix police are investigating a burglary at Arizona Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs’s campaign office.
Law enforcement told Arizona’s Family that numerous unnamed items were stolen “sometime during the night.”
Although the burglary likely happened overnight, police responded to the incident at 2 p.m on Tuesday.
According to the outlet, there are currently no identified suspects but the campaign said there was somebody on the security cameras headed toward the office. There are no details about whether or not the burglary was politically motivated.
Hobbs is up against Republican Kari Lake in the race, in which Lake is slightly leading, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. Both candidates have been making their case to voters in the closing weeks of the campaign in the extremely competitive race to replace Republican Gov. Doug Ducey.
Update: The Hobbs campaign has issued a statement regarding the incident.
