Put Up or Shut Up: Franken's Promise to Resign Later Isn't Good Enough

Sen. Al Franken under fire and lots of pressure from Democrats and Republicans to resign because of his misogynistic male chauvinist pig treatment of women, took to the Senate floor today allegedly to resign.

Franken, pulled a fast one. Everyone was expecting the “accused” sexual predator to resign as more and more women come forward to describe instances of Franken’s “alleged” sexual harassment and assault against them.

As Caleb reports, Franken, basically said he didn’t do anything wrong:

Serving in the United States Senate has been the great honor of my life. I know in my heart that nothing I have done as a Senator – nothing – has brought dishonor on this institution. And I am confident the ethics committee would agree.

Then instead of resigning like almost everyone thought he should and would. Franken tells us he will resign later —  “in the coming weeks“:

Nevertheless, today I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate.

The coming weeks is so vague it can stretch as far into the future as Franken and his Democrat protectors want. This is worse than the classic and infuriating non-apology apology. It’s the Democrat Franken non-resignation resignation.

What kind of Democrat nonsense is this? You either resign or you don’t. Saying you will resign in the coming weeks is a big I don’t resign. Do the Schumer Democrats think they can satisfy the mob demanding Franken go now with is this despicable slight of hand. They can’t.

It’s time for Franken to put up or shut up. Resign now, or stay and take the heat that is just beginning to rain down upon Franken and the Democrats’ Party for attempting to defend Franken’s indefensible mistreatment of women.

I’m sick and tired of hearing story after story about all these so-called men who are incapable of treating a female with the dignity and respect they are due. Lets start getting rid of them now, not in the coming weeks. Lets start with Franken.
