About 42 percent of likely voters favored Clinton, to Trump’s 39 percent.

The poll was conducted July 31-August 4 and has a “credibility interval” of plus or minus 3 percent, meaning that the results suggest the race is roughly even.

According to Reuters the reasons behind Hillary’s decline were unclear. It’s at all unclear. Hillary squandered away her convention bounce. All week long Clinton and her surrogates made misleading statement after misleading statement about the Democrats’ presidential nominee’s use of her private email server while she was Secretary State as they tried to nuance Hillary’s way out of the things FBI Director Comey said Hillary lied about.

The average of polls aggregated by Real Clear Politics for the General Election — Trump vs. Clinton vs. Johnson vs. Stein shows Clinton ahead of Trump by 6.3 percent on Friday. Remember to take all polls theses days with a large grain of salt.
