During his address to the Faith & Freedom summit Friday afternoon, Donald Trump called out Hillary Clinton for refusing to use the term “radical Islam” saying, “This alone makes her unfit to be president.”

During an interview with George Stephanopoulos, a former Democrat Party political advisor, a Communications Director for Bill Clinton’s 1992  Presidential Campaign, President Clinton’s White House Communications Director and a Senior Advisor for Policy and Strategy for President Clinton, on the December 6, 2015-edition of ABC’s “This Week,” Hillary explained why she stopped using the term “radical Islam.”  “The problem is, that sounds like we are declaring war against a religion. That doesn’t do justice to the vast numbers of Muslims in our own country and around the world who are peaceful people . . .” Here’s the exchange:

STEPHANOPOULOS: You put — you’ve also been reluctant to say we’re fighting radical Islam. And I wonder why not. Isn’t it a mistake not to say it plain, that the violence is being pushed by radical elements in that faith?

CLINTON: Well, that’s a different thing. Radical elements who use a dangerous and distorted view of Islam to promote their jihadist ambitions, I’m fine with that. I say it all the time and I go after Islamic, too.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So what’s the problem with radical Islam?

CLINTON: Well, the problem is that that sounds like we are declaring war against a religion. And that, to me, is, number one, wrong but…

STEPHANOPOULOS: Even though the qualifier radical is there?

CLINTON: No, because, look, that — you know enough about religion, you’ve studied it. And there are radicals, people who believe all kinds of things in every religion in the world. I don’t want to do that because, number one, it doesn’t do justice to the vast numbers of Muslims in our own country and around the world who are peaceful people. Number two, it helps to create this clash of civilizations that is actually a recruiting tool for ISIS and other radical jihadists who use this as a way of saying we’re in a war against the West. You must join us. If you are a Muslim, you must join us. No. If you’re a law-abiding, peace-loving Muslim, you need to be with us against those who are distorting Islam.

Then Early Sunday morning there was the terrorist attack in Orlando. Later on Sunday,  Trump called on Hillary to either say the words “Radical Islam” or drop out of the presidential race:

“In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words ‘Radical Islam’. For that reason alone, he should step down,” Trump said in a statement. “If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words ‘Radical Islam’ she should get out of this race for the Presidency.”

Hillary caved and chose to say the words. During an interview with NBC’s “Today” on Monday morning, Hillary said she didn’t have a problem using the term.

But if he is somehow suggesting I don’t call this for what it is, he hasn’t been listening. I have clearly said we face terrorist enemies who use Islam to justify slaughtering people. We have to stop them and we will. We have to defeat radical jihadist terrorism, and we will.

Both terms “mean the same thing,” Clinton continued, adding, “And to me, radical jihadism, radical Islamism, I think they mean the same thing. I’m happy to say either, but that’s not the point.”

Hillary and the Democrats fear these continuing and increasingly deadly Terrorist attacks in America committed in allegiance to DAESH may cost her the presidency. As David French points out from September 12, 2001, until the rise of ISIS in the late spring of 2014, jihadists killed 21 Americans in terror attacks here at home. Since ISIS burst on the international scene, Jihadists have killed 73 Americans in less than two years:

  • Ali Muhammed Brown killed four Americans on a “mission of vengeance” against the United States.
  • On September 25, 2014, Alton Nolen beheaded an Oklahoma woman with a knife. His social media pages were covered with evidence of jihadist leanings and motivations.
  • On May 3, 2015, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi attacked an exhibit of Mohammed images in Garland, Texas. They wounded a security officer, but police killed them before they were able to carry out mass murder.
  • On July 16, 2015, Mohammad Abdulazeez killed five people at two Chattanooga recruiting stations. FBI director James Comey declared that Abdulazeez was “inspired/motivated” by terrorist propaganda.
  • On November 4, 2015, Faisal Mohammed went on an ISIS-inspired stabbing spree — wounding four — before he was killed by campus police.
  • On December 2, 2015, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik pledged allegiance to ISIS then killed 14 people and wounded 21 at a Christmas party in San Bernardino, Calif.
  • On January 8, 2015, Edward Archer pledged himself to ISIS and attempted to assassinate a Philadelphia police officer. The wounded officer chased down and apprehended Archer before he could commit any other acts of violence.
  • On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen pledged himself to ISIS and killed 49 people and wounds 53 at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
So Yes, Hillary had good reason to bow to Trump on using “Radical Islam.”
