You can't please unpleasable people. They will find a reason to hate anything and everything if it doesn't align with their sensibilities or agenda. Of course, these are the same people who will display unrepentant hypocrisy and show love for something they proclaimed they hated.
Again, it all boils down to what it does for them.
If you've been following my coverage of the culture war, you may well remember a game that became the front line for a time called "Stellar Blade." It was a video game created by a studio called "Shift Up," out of South Korea. The main character was a female android named "Eve," who was designed to be very beautiful and well-proportioned in all the right places. She was even based on a very popular South Korean model.
Naturally, the Western left had a massive problem with this. Feminine beauty, especially bodily sex appeal, is something that can't be allowed because, as they claim, it damages the self-confidence of women to see idealized women. Studies have shown this to be a lie, and to tell the truth, what the feminist social justice left actually hates is anything that involves women attracting men on the most natural level. If it serves the "male gaze," it has to be evil.
No ifs, ands, or butts. Pun very much intended.
The game also had the left waging war against it because if they could get Shift Up to censor or reduce Eve's female characteristics, it would be proof that they could infect the South Korean entertainment sector and push their nonsense there, too.

Shift Up recently announced the sequel, called "Stellar Blade: Blood Rain," with a new protagonist, Evie. This new lead looks a bit younger and is less voluptuous than Eve. According to director Kim Hyung-tae, they gave her a bit more of a waifish appearance in order to make her hand-to-hand combat style look a bit more "appealing."
Now, the accusation from the Western left is that this is quite clearly pedophilia at work. Evie, they say, is clearly a child, and they're trying to sexualize her to appease the creeps that make up the gaming community.

Of course, Evie is not a child. In fact, as pointed out by many in the X community, she looks like a grown adult woman in her 20s or 30s who would hail from South Korea. The petite body shape is actually kind of common, in fact.
Of course, reality isn't the point for these Western social justice weirdos. The point is that there's an entertainment studio releasing major games that aren't obeying the arbitrary rules that appease their socio-political sensibilities. You'll notice they'll attack anyone and anything for any reason if creators aren't bending the knee.
Just last week, I wrote about this same group of people going after an indie studio creating a game called "Knight's Path" after they displayed one of their game's "romantic options," a pretty but modest woman named Amelie. The attack on the developers was the accusation that they were creating "trad wife porn for right wingers."

Does this mean women in media can't ever look voluptuous and beautiful? Not at all. She can be borderline pornographic with off-the-charts beauty, and these feminists will be just fine with it if they believe it serves their purposes.
Bayonetta is a game with a female protagonist who contorts in various ways that look quite a bit like a stripper's during gameplay. One of her powers is creating monsters and weapons out of her hair, which also makes up the vast majority of her clothes. When you cast a summon, she loses her clothing, and the game cleverly covers it through camera angles. As I've covered in videos, the left hated Bayonetta until it became popularly thought she was part of the LGBTQ+ crowd. Suddenly, she was the toast of the social justice left.
Of course, it later came out that she was straight as an arrow, even going so far as to start a family by the end, which immediately made her an enemy of the state once more.
Meanwhile, the social justice left is celebrating the release of the girlboss God of War spinoff "Laufey," which purposefully uglified the model they used for the main character. Moreover, it's meant to replace Kratos, the actual masculine character of the series, which is standard practice for leftist studios nowadays, whether video gaming or not.
Take the beloved main male character of a series or franchise, Indiana Jones, and swap them out with a female character, and hope everyone just goes with it.
They bolder always rolls over them in the end.

Nobody asked for this game. The character is actually dead in the canon. It's pretty clear this is just a box check, but that's ultimately what the left cares about more than anything. Not if the character is good, or the game is up to par. They care that something they approve of was displayed, and that the normalization of it all continues apace.
