Remember when leftists, especially AWFLs, would get on the internet and film themselves coming out as non-binary, bisexual, or some form of identity that allowed them access to victimhood talking points and false moral authority.
Well, that's so 2025.... kind of. You can still stack identities if you want, but what's important is that you adopt the latest identity trend: being Muslim. Neon hair and septum piercings are out, but burkas and Qurans are in-shallah.
There was a trickle of this before the turn of the year, but now it seems to be picking up speed, and it's not hard to see that the Left already sees this as its new expression of "love" and "justice." I have little doubt that the current ideological battle between the Left and the Right has contributed to this, with Somali daycares, deportations, and Zohran Mamdani's win all causing figurative lines to be drawn.
Leftists are lining up to virtue signal their new identity as Muslims to show their peers they're not just of the cloth, but that they're bravely standing against the bigots, the racists, the xenophobes, and the Islamophobes.
Take this AWFL, for instance. She films herself coming out as Muslim in the same way they used to film themselves coming out as non-binary or bisexual. She portrays a false sense of nervous excitement and gives some background about how she got a Quran one day, and now she just so happened to find out she's Muslim because she "believes in God" and "strives to be a good person."
She doesn't hide her cards well. You can tell she's doing this for the attention and engagement because she mentions she can't wait to tell people and throw them for a loop, and that "we're all in this together."

This American woman realized she's "technically a Muslim" after reading the Quran. In other videos, she explains that her journey to embracing Islam began when a friend invited her to a Halal food festival.

This woman filmed herself unboxing a Quran and tearing up as she held it and admired its cover. Then, she filmed herself going through the paces of sinking herself into the "loving" culture, and then finally converting officially.

As stupid as this is, and even though it's clearly the latest trend, the issue is that these women vote. They will take this new trend and do exactly what they did with the previous LGBTQ+ trend, and put so much focus on the victimhood of the oppressed that they will go and elect people who say they will support Muslims and Islam, and all it stands for.
The real issue with this is that the LGBTQ+ trend just made you want to vote for radical Democrats who were severely bad for society in their own right. Voting for someone who will implement Islamic beliefs is far worse, as they do represent many of the extremist views leftists have, and then add unapologetic theocratic extremism on top of that.
These leftist sheep will vote in the wolves, and the process of having to push out extremism in our communities will have to start again, this time with a different mask.
What's infuriating is that they're going to do all this for a year or two, then move on from the trend once it loses steam. Any damage they've done will go unaddressed as they move on to the next trend.
The Left is truly insufferable.
