The Five Goals of the Left's Cultural Thievery

You can't open up social media without seeing that there's a reboot, sequel, or remake being made in some way, shape, or form, and based on those creating it, the platforms they're on, or the producers behind them, that it's going to be a shallow piece of garbage geared toward a "modern audience."

Even if the Left can't steal a character, they'll claim the character anyway and become fiercely territorial about who its true fanbase is.

Take, the latest example, the "transing" of one of Nintendo's most popular characters, Samus Aran, who just saw another game released recently. As The Federalist reports, the cultural thieves were out in force to claim gaming's most famous bounty hunter as an LGBTQ+ icon:

The claim first appeared in 2015, when man in a dress Brianna Wu co-authored an article for The Mary Sue titled “Metroid’s Samus Aran is a Transgender Woman. Deal With It.” Activists kept the theory going, including lesbian outlet Autostraddle listing Samus on its 2023 list of top transgender video game characters.

Wu’s article returned with a vengeance with the release of Prime 4 as one of the game’s credited narrative writers reposted it and tweeted support of the transgender Samus theory. In a post that has since been deleted, writer Megan Fausti wrote “I honestly love the idea that Samus is a trans woman. In my mind, she is and always will be.”

Fausti was joined by yet another man in a dress, Oliver Thorn, better known by his YouTube moniker Philosophy Tube. Following Prime 4, Thorn told hobby website The Gamer “I still think Nintendo should come out and tell us what we already know, which is that Samus is trans.”

The hope is that with enough public pressure, a company will bend and either do as they're told from the social justice Left or, at the very least, give the character enough ambiguity for those who want to claim the character enough to make the claim feasible.

A good example of this is Lara Croft, who was not only highly suggested to be a lesbian during the woke remakes, but had her character drawn in a very mannish manner, giving the permanently online LGBTQ+ mobs a way to claim she was theirs in every regard.

Too often, the purpose of these remakes and appropriations is to paint characters and worlds that the Western world holds dear with a modern brush, which is a classic way of restructuring the cultural space. The intersectional Left is often the driving force behind these "reminaginings," and doing these things in the name of a war, but not just a cultural one, but an internal one at that.

There are a multitude of reasons for stealing the ideas and corrupting the work of better men and women for the cause, but I'd say there are five that truly define the quest by the intersectional Left for actual cultural appropriation.

1. Normalization

Culture is the underpinning for our social structure. If they can infect it at the foundations, then they can easily control its development. They can normalize whatever they want with enough time, establish social hierarchies, and develop trends that give them a social advantage.

This is one of the oldest strategies to control society known to mankind and has been taken advantage of by every dictator that ever walked the Earth. If they can control what is allowed in the culture, spoken in the classrooms, or displayed on the screen, they can bend minds in their direction. It doesn't even have to be direct propaganda. After a short time of cultural control, outlets that are wholly apolitical will normalize their culture inadvertently.

There was a reason the leftist infiltration of Disney was so complete and is still being endured today. It's a massive corporation that is primarily geared towards children, but even more than that, it was a symbol of Western culture. Seizing that platform and reimagining the stories it told that held up Western values allows them to effectively rewrite the culture from the inside.

2. Infiltration Via Parasitic Means

The cordyceps fungus is a terrifying kind of parasite that plagues the world of insects. It works by infecting the host, robbing them of their minds and purpose, forcing them to climb to a specific place where many of its kind pass or live, and then unleashing itself through the skin or exoskeleton of the insect, releasing spores and infecting the rest of the nearby population.

The intersectional Left is a lot like this. It can't infect you directly because you'll reject it outright. So it has to find a host body that already has access to your heart and mind, put the infected host on a screen, and then release its mind-altering propaganda from there.

A solid example of this is Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings. The J.R.R. Tolkien character was beautiful and soft, but terrible in her influence and power. She was not one of Tolkien's most powerful characters because she swung a sword and performed acrobatics and feats of strength. She was powerful because her experience as one of the oldest beings in Middle-earth and the things she witnessed from a young age made her someone so revered that when she spoke, everyone listened and obeyed. Had she taken the ring, she would have defeated Sauron, but her morality wouldn't allow that. She refused power when it was freely offered to her because that power would have cost her herself.

Then Amazon came along and perverted the character by making her smug in her morality, aggressive in every regard, and physically more capable than everyone around her. Why? Because if Galadriel, one of the greatest female characters in Western literature, can become a feminist boss babe, then they can infect Tolkien's writing and make it into a vessel for leftist messaging.

You won't buy their ideological extremism up front, but you might if it's wearing the face of Captain America or Indiana Jones, and if you don't, then your kids likely will.

3. Moral Narcissism

This is where we start getting into the nitty-gritty. The real reason they steal cultural mainstays.

These people wholeheartedly believe they're better than you. They believe they're better than the creators who came before them. They truly think that many of these intellectual and creative giants made mistakes that need to be corrected so that their influence on the culture can be the correct kind.

So they go about correcting "problematic" narratives, watering down unwanted character traits, and repositioning the values and beliefs of these characters to mimic theirs. Going back to Lara Croft, they took her from a smirking, dual pistol-wielding, sexy, raider of tombs to an emotional woman who rejects her white, upper-class family's legacy of taking artifacts from tombs and may or may not be a lesbian.

Now she's the right kind of hero on the right side of history, and the hope is that through this infection, you'll slowly have this kind of mentality normalized in yourself or your kids, but even more than that, you'll start to see the people who this new Lara represents as the same kind of moral figure, worthy of deference and respect.

4. Representation As Replacement

Just like when you are a hammer, everything is a nail; when you're obsessed with identity, everything is an identity issue.

The call of "representation" sounds like a small ask on the surface, but it's more cultural erasure and replacement. These people claim they need to "see themselves" in any given work to make a connection to it, and if they don't see enough of their kind in the culture, then that's a sign that they're social outcasts in a racist society. The only good thing to do is to give them a character and have them transformed at their very foundations.

It doesn't matter if it makes sense to have a black man in the middle of medieval Bohemia; you have to put one there in the name of representation. Anne Boleyn was white as snow, but needs to be represented by a black woman because not doing so is culturally problematic and racist. This then allows the intersectional Left to make claims that make no sense, such as "black Vikings and black samurai were real," though there is no evidence of this, but fewer and fewer people will question it because popular media has normalized that entire historical rewrite.

From here, you can create a multitude of narratives, all of which work to erase Western culture and replace it with something else.

5. Authority Without Merit

You could easily say this last one constitutes the entirety of the far Left, but in the cultural space, the end goal of every theft — and the summation of all the other points — is being rewarded with cultural influence and power without actually doing anything to earn it.

They don't need to make any solid arguments, win any debates, or even have facts or science on their side. All they need is to saturate the cultural space with their message to gain authority on a variety of levels, be it moral or official. They don't create moral authority through their own means, so they have to hijack a moral source to project authority they don't actually have.

They can gain power without having to actually work for it, and power is the ultimate goal for the left. Hijacking characters and worlds is a shortcut to authority, and authority is power.
