The only reason I care at all about New York's probable incoming Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, is because he's New York's probable incoming mayor. If it wasn't for that singular fact, he'd be far-leftist No. 452981.
For a while, I couldn't figure out why Mamdani annoyed me beyond his political stances that I've seen repeated ad nauseam in the modern era. Something about the guy just ate at me, and I realized that I get the same feeling from him as I do from famous Twitch streamer Hasan Piker.
Piker is someone who glorifies radical leftism to the point where he actually cheerleads anti-American terrorists in the open, and the more you watch the man, the more you realize that he's not the cool, charming guy he's billed as by his colleagues and leftist commentators... he's actually kind of an awkward idiot. His fame comes from the fact that he's willing to get so radical and speaks with so much confidence while ignorant that he seems like a knowledgeable authority, but ultimately, he's just another ridiculous face in the far-leftist crowd that was lucky enough to have a famous uncle and a rich father.

This is the vibe I get with Mamdani, too.
His mother is Mira Nair, an Oscar-nominated Indian-American filmmaker, and his father is Mahmood Mamdani, a Columbia professor. The man grew up with wealth that he now demonizes for clout, and like every other hard-leftist, he lives in luxury while holding luxury beliefs.
His entire personality is based on the false idea that he's somehow a man of the people because he's brave enough to speak truth to power and be just like folks... while living the high life and seeking to obtain the power he's claiming to speak truth to.
And his performances are just as cringe as every other TikTok leftist.
As my colleague Mike Miller reported on Tuesday, a photo Mamdani posted in 2020 of him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus has now gone viral, and while the Italian-Americans are up in arms over the insult, the only feeling I have is exhaustion. It's just another leftist virtue signal meant to get applause and back pats from other Democrat Socialists of America who think that making rude gestures toward American icons is somehow brave and making a real difference.
Of course, my favorite is Mamdani eating food with his bare hands because he's so connected to the Third World thanks to his upbringing.

Just a reminder: Mamdani went to a private school that costs thousands to attend, and his eating rice with his hands is all a performative act. He's not used to eating like that at all; he's doing it because he needs to sell his Third World lie to the ignorant. In reality, this video is a lot like Chuck Schumer standing over an unlit grill.
Again, it's not just that Mamdani doesn't have a genuine fiber in his body, it's that he truly buys into his own hype, and is only carried as far as he is because the legacy media and various Democrats are wholly unwilling to call him on the fact that he's just another cringy radical leftist with ideals that he doesn't actually believe.
If Mamdani was told that he had to actually depart for the Third World he loves so much, do you think he'd be okay with that?
No, because he's a wealthy man living in the wealthiest country in the world.
If America did become a Communist country tomorrow and Mamdani was forced to give up his wealth and power, do you think he'd be happy to do it, having achieved his goal of collapsing the United States' capitalist system and implementing the end-goal of socialism?
No, he'd absolutely lose his mind because like every other "socialist," he's a capitalist who loves his wealth and freedom.
He's another boring, exhausting, champagne socialist. It's a trope that's so worn out at this point that it only seems to truly survive in a few select places, one of which is New York. Everywhere else, it's dying a fast death.
What truly bothers me is that if he wins, the socialists and communists in America will become even more insufferable as Mamdani destroys New York City and the radical left claims everything is going great.
