Do you know what the big difference is between Hamas and the Nazis?
The name is different.
But both are radical ideologies centered around hating one group of people, the Jews, whom they have placed as the sole reason for all their ills in the world. They also both have the same solution. Round them up and kill them all, as brutally and inhumanely as you like.
For decades, the left has been accusing anyone who opposes them of being a Nazi. No matter how far back you go, a Republican president couldn't sneeze without some Democrat politician or media figure following it up with "that was just like Hitler." It's a time-honored tradition of the leftist cabal to drag Godwin's law into the political conversation.
Then October 7, 2023, happened. Hamas invaded Israel and killed, raped, and kidnapped people in the name of Jewish extermination and scratching their antisemitic itch. Anti-Israel states celebrated in the streets, and it was considered a great victory by the denizens of Gaza.
Then Israel struck back, and with a ferocity and precision that leveled Gaza. Even then, Israel was still doing all this with one hand tied behind their back, as they did what they could to minimize civilian casualties. Terrorists died left and right, tunnels were uncovered, bases were leveled, and Israel had its vengeance.
But here in America, that ol' Nazi spirit was revived in the very left that had been accusing everyone else of being a Nazi. University protests erupted across the nation. They flew the Palestinian flag and chanted things like "from the river to the sea," which is a blatant call for the destruction of Israel and the death of the Jewish people. As they did, Democrat politicians and the media went soft on them.
Americans everywhere, even people in Hollywood, were aghast at just how much these protesters, who often displayed violence and open discrimination toward Jewish people, were coddled and protected by the media.
And among these Democrats was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who became so defensive of these students that it was more than clear that she sympathized with them. In fact, she was so sympathetic that she openly urged Eric Adams not to send the police to Columbia to break up the protest, saying that if anyone gets hurt, it'll be on him.
A class-action lawsuit was filed by students, against AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and Ilhan Omar for effectively encouraging and defending the lunatics at these protests.
There are a lot of things that turned people off to the left over the course of the past four years, but nothing quite demonstrated how actually hateful, nasty, and racist the left is, quite like the Israel/Hamas war. It's kind of crazy to actually watch terrorists display a complete and total lack of humanity to innocents, then watch as leftists either applaud these horrific acts or mask their hatred of Jewish people by proclaiming that Israel is actually being unusually cruel in their war-fighting tactics, when they're demonstrably not.
Regardless, no matter how you slice it, being an actual Nazi has made many on the left look very, very bad, but the left has always had a solution for this kind of issue. All you have to do is accuse your opposition of doing exactly what you're doing, and then buckle down on it relentlessly with the help of the legacy media.
So when Elon Musk makes a gesture that even remotely looks like a Nazi salute, you can scream from the top of Mt. Bull***t that your enemies just gave proof that they are, indeed, dog-whistling Nazis despite the fact that you yourself have been demonstrating sentiment for Nazism since you arrived on the scene.

I feel like a broken record at this point, but I should point out this isn't going to work, because in order for this narrative to thrive, you have to have tight control over narrative creation and distribution... which the Democrats no longer have. They are locked in the arena with the people now, and every lie they try to sell is immediately rejected out of hand.
But regardless, the real reason the left is going so hard after Musk is because they need a lightning rod to redirect the hate that rightfully should come to them for their despicable behavior and barely hidden disdain for the Jewish people.
You're only as guilty as the amount of blame coming down on you, and if it's coming down on someone else more, then you're in the clear.
But things have changed. We know Musk isn't a Nazi, but we know some Democrats who sure seem sentimental to the cause.
