Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is playing by the Democrat playbook of lie, lie, and lie again, but actual journalists aren't letting him get away with it. 

During a presser about the border at the Davis-Monthan Airforce Base in Tucson, Arizona, Mayorkas attempted to pass off the idea that President Joe Biden has successfully secured the border. That he can say that when there are illegal migrants still streaming across our very porous border is a testament to the shamelessness of the left and its do-anything attitude to secure power. 

"The President took action," said Mayorkas to reporters. "The border security steps we have taken over the past 18 months are bringing order."

There's order at the border! Only, as one reporter brought up, there's not. In fact, the issue is so severe that innocent people are dying. 

The reporter stated that the nation's eyes are on the brutal crimes being committed by illegal immigrants in our own nation, one of which was wearing an ICE ankle monitor, yet Mayorkas is claiming that individuals are vetted before crossing. 

"But we know in our conversations with the ICE director — we've heard the FBI director say that there are significant gaps in intel," said the reporter. "So what would you say to reassure the American people that they are, in fact, safe? And what would you say to the families who are mourning their loved ones because of these migrant crimes being committed?"

After saying that their hearts are with the families who lost people, he went on to say that the safety of the American people is "indeed our highest priority." He then said that they "screen and vet individuals when we encounter them."

Again, one of these criminals had already been vetted and was wearing an ankle monitor. Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel, 21, had been captured and released by border agents back in March, but were captured this month after raping and murdering a 12-year-old girl named Jocelyn Nungaray. As the Daily Mail noted, these two men are just two of 7.4 million migrants that were released after being detained by border patrol officers. This vetting including throwing Ramos into programs that our government expects illegal aliens to follow the rules of, but clearly these criminals have no intention to, resulting in rapes and murders like the kind experienced by Nungaray: 

But Ramos was one of more than 184,000 enrolled into the Alternatives to Detention program for closer monitoring after raising suspicions at border encounters.

They are fitted with GPS monitors or required to regularly call phone systems that use voice recognition to confirm their identity. 

Ramos, who was discovered crossing the border among a large group of migrants, was reportedly given a notice to appear at a court in San Antonio on August 29. 

ICE was aware of 'at least 617,607 criminal aliens' not subject to detainment orders and 'free to reoffend', the House Judiciary Committee concluded in March.

Agents can do little if migrants abscond from the program and remove their ankle bracelets and more than 53,000 are known to have disappeared between 2014 and 2020.

As RedState reported, the number of illegal aliens on ICE's non-detained docket has exploded under the Biden administration, going from 3.2 million in 2020 to the aforementioned 7.4 million of today. 

There is clearly nothing under control at the border thanks to the Biden administration, and Mayorkas's lie is an insult to the American people who suffered thanks to his border policies.
