It is imperative that Joe Biden lose the 2024 election in November and not just because he has mishandled the economy, the border, and everything that's fallen under his eyesight. One of the biggest reasons he has to lose is that he is wielding the government against his own countrymen to silence them.
As RedState previously reported, this was brought up by RFK Jr., who shocked everyone when he said Biden was a larger threat to the Republic than Trump was, based on this fact alone:
The independent presidential candidate said he could make the argument that Joe Biden was a much bigger threat to democracy, arguing that Biden was the first candidate in history to have "used the federal agencies to censor political speech to censor his opponent.”
No president in history had ever done that before, he said.
He’s right and this is something that is not being said enough. We have the Biden team and Democrats reaching out into social media. We saw social media shut down things like the Hunter Biden laptop story. RFK talks about how the Biden team tried to suppress him.
David Harsanyi elaborated on this at The Federalist, pointing out that Biden's incursions into curbing our rights have been more official at times than furtive:
Remember, as well, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield warning that social media companies “should be held accountable” for the ideas of those who use their websites. Was she talking about the ideas that spurred the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, the most expensive in history? Was she talking about those who spread conspiracy theories about Russian collusion? Probably not. Though Trump never did anything to inhibit the spread of criticism or conspiracy theories.
The practical problem with allowing the state to dictate speech is that it will surely abuse the power by tagging inconvenient positions as “disinformation,” as it did with the Hunter Biden laptop story and as it did when pressuring Facebook to ban stories on the Chinese origins of Covid. Even if this were not the case, the state has no business guiding, engaging in, or suggesting any limits on free expression — even when it comes to real misinformation or disinformation. The president swore an oath to the Constitution, not the consensus of “experts.”
Borders can be eventually closed and well-guarded, illegal aliens can be deported, economies can be reinvigorated, criminals can be locked up, and better policies can bring the price of gas and food down, but once a government has normalized censorship, that right is forever weakened. It will continue to be weakened until it's gone.
This cannot happen.
What we're talking about here is Biden's administration not only slowly eroding away the very foundation of our nation, but taking sticks of dynamite and blowing them away chunk by chunk. Once our right to free speech has been put away, the rest will fall in no time. The curbing of free speech, especially that on the internet, will allow this and upcoming administrations, to treat the American people like playthings.
They can raise your taxes, open your borders, defund your police, cheat your elections, and lock you away for little to no reason. Any pushback from the people can be deleted and washed away with the mere declaration that it's "misinformation" or "hate speech."
You will have effectively completed the road to serfdom.
Not only can Joe Biden not win, but the Trump administration and any other incoming Republican must then dedicate a lot of time to reinforcing free speech protections, including further limiting what the government can and cannot do when it comes to influencing media and internet companies.
Republican control won't last forever. The law of undulation is absolute. Republicans must make use of the time they have to shackle the government as much as they can before their time runs out. This shouldn't just be a secondary objective for them. This should be among their top priorities.
America isn't America if the government can punish, restrict, and silence a person over speech. Biden has shown us where we're weak in that regard. In thanks, we need to vote him out, get rid of a host of other Democrats, and proceed to reinforce our rights.
