Dear New York Women Being Attacked by Strangers, Vote Like an Adult

Out of the blue, a dozen or so New York City women posted videos to TikTok in tears, their faces bruised, talking about how a random man punched them in the face. Reportedly, police have arrested the man responsible for punching at least one woman but aren't yet sure if he's the man responsible for the assault on all of them.

It appears that all the victims are young, white, and in their 20s and 30s.

This has been met with calls for "someone to do something" and questions as to how this could be allowed.

In response to these attacks, the NYC Women's Caucus issued a statement.

You'll notice the call to action is an "investigation."

I don't think you need an investigation, and this reeks of a group looking to look like they want to take action while not taking any at all because the required action would mean changing the way things are done by Democrats in New York.

To be sure, everyone's first instinct is to protect these women as is good and right to do. However, many of these women need to understand that when it truly comes down to saving them, they have to rely on themselves. No one is coming to save you. You can only do that yourself.

But some things need to definitely change first, and it starts with a change from the women themselves.

According to Stacker, of New York's voting populace, over 52 percent are women. Of that 52 percent, 58 percent vote Democrat. These are the same Democrats that vote to defund the police department, restrict and complicate firearm ownership, and have soft-on-crime policies that literally allow people to go free even after attacking police.

There aren't enough officers even now to fully keep New York City safe and police are abandoning the department all the time. And why not? The city treats police officers like trash, overworks them, underpays them, and then comes down on them when they do their jobs. Being a police officer is risky in New York City, and not just because you have to deal with criminals. The politicians can be just as dangerous.

Criminals in New York live in an environment where they may very well get away with committing their crimes, making them braver. A woman getting punched in the face in broad daylight in a city gone mad isn't murder, but it's definitely indicative of how bad things have become. The criminals have little fear of reprisal, and that creates another massive issue.

It sure would be great if these criminals had to weigh their own safety with their crimes, but they oftentimes don't. They know that any violence they do might lead to an arrest, maybe a little jail time, and then it's back on the street for them. They wouldn't be doing this if the pattern was "They commit violent act...they get shot."

New Yorkers have put people in power who believe that self-defense is wrong, and it shows in the actions of criminals. They've made it very complicated to own and carry a firearm in New York City, and with these criminals knowing they aren't going to get shot, punching a woman in the face becomes a fun game, not a scenario that might have consequences.

These Democrat politicians have even taught people that self-defense is punishable should anything happen to the criminal, as the story of Daniel Penny tells us. To refresh your memory, Penny was the Marine who stopped a violent man in a subway car with a chokehold. The man later died, and Penny is now fighting for his freedom against Democrat politicians who want him to be labeled a murderer, not the good samaritan that he is.

I think, at this point, it's pretty obvious what the problem is, and it's not something stupid like "toxic masculinity" or "misogyny." The issue doesn't even start with Democrats.

The issue is that people in New York City live under this idea that their rights aren't theirs; they're someone else's to control. Their idea is that the politics of feelings is somehow going to bring about a peaceful world with fairness and equality for all.

This is all childish nonsense. They look at politicians, not as elected officials who work for them, but as all-powerful babysitters who should kiss their booboos and protect them from strangers. If the women in New York City truly want to be safe, then the only piece of advice I have for them is this...

Grow up.

Stop electing politicians who talk Utopias and deliver Hells. Stop electing politicians that happily complicate your means of self-defense. Stop electing politicians who think the police are the problem. Stop electing politicians who look at you like a subject and not a free American citizen.

You want things to change? You want New York to be a safer city and not a trashy criminal playground? Elect people who understand that a well-treated police force and a well-armed population are the keys to a polite, safe society. Until you can get that, New York is only going to degrade, and getting punched in the face is going to be the least of your problems.

Vote like an adult capable of putting two and two together and fending for yourself, not like a child who runs to mommy and daddy every time a problem arises.

I know this seems like I'm being a bit brutal, and that telling women who got punched in the face to "grow up" seems heartless, but in this case, brutal honesty seems to be needed.
