The Biden campaign's new ad dropped on Thursday and if you thought it was going to be ridiculous, then you were right, but you probably didn't anticipate how low it would sink.
As you can see below, the ad literally starts off by calling Trump voters extremists, then proceeds to feed us some tired "right side of history" talk before transitioning into nonsense about how he and his empty-suited VP, Kamala Harris, have always supported voting rights.

First off, voting rights were never an issue. No one is trying to stop people from voting unless you count Republicans and conservatives attempting to clean up out-of-date voter roles and stop illegal immigrants from voting in our elections, which the Democrats may very well be upset about. It's pretty clear the Biden campaign is trying to fabricate this as an issue to make it seem like Republicans are trying to stop regular American citizens from voting in order to awaken a spiteful response against Republicans in the form of voting for Democrats.
I'm not even going to delve much into the "right side of history" nonsense the left likes to say. The victor writes history and people should stop fooling themselves into believing that future generations will look at them with admiration and love because they took the position they did at the time. While it's fun to think that you'll be one of the historical figures who will be revered in the future for the decisions you made, the fact is that you won't know what kind of echo your actions will send out at the moment, and trying to predict the future is like trying to predict the weather 100 years out. Whether you're loved or hated is up to the people who write the history books in the future.
But my main gripe is that somehow Trump supporters are extremists.
Firstly, let's get something out of the way right now. When Biden flashes Trump banners and January 6 photos at you while talking about extremists, he wants you to visualize angry MAGA hat-wearing people, but he doesn't just mean Trump supporters. What he really means is anyone who isn't on his side falls into that "extremist" camp.
That's a bold strategy, Cotton.
The last time something like this happened was when Hillary Clinton called Trump voters "deplorables," which was effectively taken in a way that arguably damaged her campaign severely. Instead of just people believing she meant Trump supporters, people rightfully took it as a strike against voters planning on voting Republican as a whole. While she tried to make it seem like she was just talking about the racists, sexists, homophobic, etc, etc, etc, her campaign and her supporters spent her entire campaign labeling anyone who didn't plan on voting for as such with reckless abandon.
Biden's voters haven't been doing much differently. Accusations of social sins are pretty much a nonstop occurrence from the left toward anyone who dares defy the dotard.
Should Trump win the primary, not everyone who votes for him will do so with enthusiasm. They'll do it because he's far better than Biden and that's the best they're going to get. Some will vote for him because they believe him to be a much better leader for our nation and a more skilled steward of the economy.
Some will absolutely vote for him because they believe him to be the best world leader they've seen in their lifetime and are going to pull the lever for him with all the enthusiasm of a Swifty buying tickets to a Taylor Swift concert.
Despite the diversity of these motivations, no one is "extremist" for doing so. Supporting Trump doesn't put you in the camp of those dastardly insurrectionists who, as it's pretty clear by now, weren't insurrectionists.
This is a bad campaign ad, and I'm not sure it's going to inspire anyone to vote for Biden, especially with people's spite against his administration already high for the economic situation they find themselves in.
