Those Attacking MrBeast's Charity Should be Shamed by the General Public

You probably don’t know who MrBeast is, but his real name is Jimmy Donaldson and he’s an incredibly popular YouTuber who went from taking incredibly large sums of money for wild and hilarious challenges to using that money for incredible acts of charity.

The last time RedState checked in on MrBeast, he had literally restored the sight to 1,000 who had lost their vision due to cataracts. Donaldson had paid for everyone’s surgeries and even added a few bonuses to certain people such as thousands of dollars in cash and a Tesla.

However, because the internet is the internet, people found a way to be mad at Donaldson for his act of charity. They accused him of “poverty touring” and “performative altruism.” The excuse for their anger was that Donaldson should have just done all of this without making a video. That’s a ridiculous take, as I explained in my article about the situation:

I want to kill two birds with one stone. Is he doing performative altruism?

Sure. Be glad he is, because his performances garner more money through the same capitalist system these rich socialists are complaining about. Donaldson can then use the money he garnered through the system to perform more altruistic acts.

He is successfully using the capitalist system to help more people than socialism ever could on its own, and finger-wagging at him for showing the best economic system ever created at its most helpful is like naysaying a sheepdog for demonstrating his skill at protecting the herd.

Economics escapes some people.

Undeterred, MrBeast continued looking for ways to help people. In his latest video, he shows that the idea he landed on was giving shoes to 20,000 South African children. Many of these children can’t get to school simply because they lack protective footwear.

“Because of the extreme poverty in rural towns walking barefoot is the only option, which means they have to walk miles over harsh terrains, broken glass, and contaminated water,” Donaldson says.

In helping with this issue, Donaldson not only gave these children footwear, but he also gave them a chance at an education.

Who can be mad at that?

You can probably guess.

The attack seems to be over the fact that Donaldson makes a profit off of his video, but as Donaldson clarified to one Twitter user, he doesn’t make a dime off of these charity videos. Any profits made from the channel go to running his entire philanthropy business, including his food banks.

Some accused him of not doing anything to actually change the conditions of the country, which is a ridiculous thing to argue seeing as how Donaldson’s ultimate goal was to allow children to safely get an education by giving them shoes that can help them safely traverse hazardous conditions.

That’s not even mentioning the fact that even if he hadn’t improved the overall condition of the country, he at least improved the personal lives of 20,000 people with a simple pair of shoes.

If you’d like to see more you can just search MrBeast on Twitter. Trust me, these people aren’t shy about their position, but that’s a good thing.

While I was looking at some of the negative responses to Donaldson’s video, I couldn’t help but wonder how many people have stopped charitable work because they were shamed by the public for some reasons as stupid. Most people who have good in their hearts don’t expect to be lambasted for their charities and as such, are often blindsided by the hate they receive.

What Donaldson is doing may inspire acts of charity of their own, and one of the reasons the backlash against him has to stop is because the man shows people how the capitalist system can be utilized to make grand acts of giving and kindness. The people lashing out against him all seem to have either a loose grasp of capitalist economics or are diametrically opposed to it.

These people need to be debated in the open and shamed for their ridiculous stupidity at every turn. They need to learn that attacking people who help others will result in proverbial public flogging. If these people prevent one person from getting the help they need because of their bitter attitude toward capitalist charity, then they will have done a great evil.

These internet wokescolds only seem to understand one language and it’s the same language every bully understands. If you want to stop a bully, make bullying a painful thing to do.
