When it comes to the border, Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds isn’t playing and he made sure to make Democrats understand that in no uncertain terms during a hearing on the border Crisis on Tuesday. In fact, he wanted to make the point so clear that he warned Democrats that if they wanted to continue throwing around baseless accusations toward Republicans, Democrats were invited to come to where he sat and say them directly to his face.
The moment happened during a House Oversight Committee hearing regarding the border. Border Patrol officers were testifying as to the Biden administration’s immigration policies and his attacks on the Border Patrol’s ability to do their jobs. Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin of the Tucson Sector told horror stories of an open border that has allowed abuse, rape, and more to occur to migrants, by coyotes and criminal elements within the migrant groups.
Democrats responded in a disgusting fashion by accusing Republicans of using the border crisis to generate “white nationalist conspiracy theories.”
This set Donalds off, who paused the hearing before it started to warn Democrats that this was a serious matter that they shouldn’t be playing political games with–and if they wanted to continue to accuse he and his fellow Republicans of white nationalism, then they could come over to the Republican side and say it to his face.

There are no reports that Democrats took Donalds up on his offer at this time.
It should be telling that the Democrats immediately went to the accusation of Republicans being racist when it comes to the border. The border crisis is, as Donalds said, a very serious issue that is harming everyone, from Americans to the migrants themselves.
The absolute dereliction of duty from the Democrats and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has caused tidal waves of migrants to flood across our border, bringing with them an increased crime rate, drugs, and violence with them. Democrats are likely taking the route of making it about something it’s not because they’re fully aware that there is no looking good here. The investigations will lay bare their intentional war against those who wish to secure the border and keep Americans safe.
So they accuse them of racism, their go-to attack for when they have nothing to defend themselves with.
More Republicans should take Donalds’ approach and tell Democrats that if they truly wish to accuse them of white nationalism and racism, then they can make those accusations directly to their face.
