No One Is Surprised by the Democrats' Upcoming 'October Surprise'

Earlier Wednesday, my colleague Bonchie wrote on how we’ve got a very solid lead on what Democrats are planning for their October surprise. What is it?

Surprise! It’s another pandemic.

Not that it was hard to see this coming. The early days of the pandemic were something of a golden age for Democrats. They could practice what seemed like limitless power over their respective territories from the state to the local level. They could close businesses, forbid people from going out to various public areas, force people to wear masks, and so much more.

But best of all, they could use it to scare people into obedience and, even better, use it to paint their political opponents as irresponsible and heartless. While red states were shedding their pandemic fears and opening back up, Democrats were doing their best to turn it all into uncut, unadulterated panic porn.

“The GOP is a death cult!”

Since the people largely began shrugging off the Coronavirus, Democrats have been dreaming of bringing it back. Rumbles of an oncoming second pandemic have been circulating through the halls of Washington and the leftist mainstream media. It was Joe Biden who eventually said the quiet part out loud, as per usual.

“We need more money to plan for the second pandemic. There’s going to be another pandemic,” Biden said. “We have to think ahead. And that’s not something the last outfit did very well. That’s something we’ve been doing fairly well. That’s why we need the money.”

Democrats will have two issues here.

Firstly, no one cares about the pandemic anymore. If the media didn’t mention it even while a new variant was spreading around the nation, no one would think twice about it. They’d get over it and move on. Many people would think they just got hit with a bout of allergies at this point.

It’s going to be very hard to convince people they’re going to die when hardly anyone is dying. In fact, one of the reasons people abandoned their fear of the COVID-19 virus in the first place is because deaths tapered off to being pretty insubstantial. While it is, of course, a tragedy to lose anyone to it, one thing that the majority of American seem to agree upon is that it’s not worth shutting down the country over, or implementing inconvenient and wildly obnoxious rules.

But the other issue is the fact that Democrats have taught the public that the thing they want us to think is a big deal isn’t actually a big deal.

Democrats don’t deal much in competency and so they have to rely on emotion. They’re constantly looking for that next big thing that will cause a societal meltdown. They need that divisive moment where they can draw a line in the sand and rally people to their side through anger and/or fear.

The issue is that the last two times they got that, it destroyed lives all over the country. Black Lives Matter burned and assaulted its way across America while giving people no place to escape from it whether it be in sports stadiums or video games. The last pandemic had blue states treating their citizens like prisoners and ruined businesses, marriages, and bank accounts.

Democrats have taught the American people that these reasons to get all excited have unnecessary consequences and that in the midst of an already devastated economy, devastating it even further isn’t the play.

So their October surprise is really just a different attempt to implement a strategy from a tired playbook that no one wants to operate from anymore.

It’s over for them, and they need to take L.
