Ninth Harris Aide Jumps Ship Amid Harris's Plummeting Approval Ratings

It’s tough times for the Biden administration, but it’s their own doing. Their obvious failings in everything from the energy crisis to the Ukraine war have brought their poll numbers low and it’s only been accompanied by tales of strife and inner conflict between staffers and even between the POTUS and the VPOTUS.

The stories of conflict have been most frequent from the Kamala Harris camp, and it seems that people are continuously leaving her staff to take up jobs elsewhere. Rumors and stories of ugly tirades and abrasive behavior from Harris aren’t uncommon, so it’s no surprise that many of her aides have jumped ship.

This includes people such as deputy director of public engagement Vincent Evans, and senior adviser and chief spokesperson Symone Sanders. Eight people had jumped ship but on Thursday, a ninth was added to that list.

According to CBS News, Sabrina Singh, Harris’s deputy press secretary, has jumped ship. The news was sent out by Harris communications director Jamal Simmons who said they will “miss her institutional knowledge” and “rapid-fire email fingers.”

CBS noted that sources are indicating Harris is looking to “reconfigure” her comms department:

A source familiar with the personnel changes tells CBS News that the vice president plans to “reconfigure,” her communications department amid the departures last year of Harris’ former press secretary Symone Sanders and communications director Ashley Etienne.

Harris’ new deputy press secretary will be Ernesto “Ernie” Apreza. Apreza, who currently serves in the White House Office of Public Engagement, previously worked on the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign, as well as Harris’ presidential campaign in 2019.

No announcements have been made regarding a new press secretary, but Simmons told the staff in the email that a new press secretary has been hired — “she will be a fantastic leader” of the communications team, he wrote.

Staffers come and go from the White House, but departing aides from the Harris camp are many and high-profile. Not only is Harris at a 46 percent disapproval rating, but the rumors of her toxic office environment also make working under seem like a bad idea. Singh has yet to comment on why she left and hasn’t responded to enquires from media outlets that have asked.

If her silence remains, it’s safe to begin believing she was influenced to keep quiet in some regard, and if that’s the case then we can probably guess why she left. As the Washington Post once reported, Harris has been a bully to her staff with reports that she often dishes out “soul-destroying criticism.”

It’s not likely to get any better for Harris or her staff. As things continue to get worse for Democrats and the Biden administration, Harris will suffer in reputation right along with it. Her own flubs don’t help the situation either.

There’s no point in working on a sinking ship, and this will likely be the last one to jump.
